I got another brand and his claws went right through it so I wasn't holding out much hope. However, this is a very sturdy cool mat and fit my dog's crate nicely. He sprawls himself across it and it prevents him from getting too hot, I was surprised how effective it is. I can feel it getting warmer underneath him (not hot yet) so try to follow instructions about letting the mat cool back down, but it's certainly a good purchase. It is also easy to fold and transport.Unfortunately the mat didn't survive the wrath of my teething puppy. It's a lot of money to spend on something that can break with teeth so just be aware of this and always supervise closely. It was broken within seconds of me taking my eyes off him (he had stuff to chew on too!).
