Yeah, it would be great if these lasted longer, but that horse has been beaten to death. I think I got 5 years out of the last set. But when they start shedding vinyl that's the time to replace. If there was a pr of aftermarket pads everyone agreed was great I'd consider them. Some yrs ago I had bought some aftermarket velour ear pads which felt good on the ears, and conceptually seemed like a great idea. But they were a tad too tall and the foam a tad too firm, which was enough to stand the headphones a bit too far from the ear. That resulted in less defined bass and poorer audio. I'd rather pay more to get the OEM product to get the best performance these great headphones can deliver. My only fear is what will happen when Sony decides not to sell these anymore?? Installation was straight forward. I didn't find them quite as challenging to stretch on as others have commented. Maybe I have more practice now ...lol. My advice is to keep at it, you'll get the new pads on. Overall....great fit, OEM product. Restores the headphones to their good quality sound. C'mon Sony! You can do better!

These are replacements for the pads that have been on my MDR-V6 for ages. They may have been the originals. They're a pain to put on, but you do want the OEM pads. They last longer, and the pads you install can change the sound of a pair of headphones. Worth a little extra...

They are great replacement cushions, fit snug and comfortable.

My old Sony MDR-7506 Professional headphones work perfectly, but the ear cushions were so worn and brittle that they would leave tiny black flecks on the sides of my face and ears. I bought these Genuine replacement ear pad cushions, and a few minutes later, I had new-looking and comfortable earphones again. They fit perfectly, were easy to attach, appear to be brand-new material, and look great. They should last years.

Got about 5 years out of these before the leather started to peel off. Not bad. Great for renewing old but great headphones. Will but another set.

The old original pads that came with my headphones had completely disintegrated. Stuffing falling out, little black pieces peeling off the outside, bad sound quality due to improper seal, the works. Getting these replacements was such a relief! They work and feel exactly like a brand new pair of the originals. My sound quality is so much crisper now, like it was when my headphones were new. Getting them on can be a little tricky (I looked up a youtube video to help me know what I was doing), but with some patience and a card to push the edges into place it's not too hard at all. That bit of effort it requires means you know you're getting a good, tight, proper fit for the best sound quality. Edit: As of October 2025, one of the pads has split open and compromised the sound quality on that side. That means these lasted me about a year and a half.

Trust me, these are the ones to get. Very easy to attach- easier than cheap aftermarket ones and these actually feel and sound right. I won’t mess with the cheap aftermarket replacements again.

So I have this 9 year old pair of MDR-V6 headphones that I have rarely used, until recently when I bought a digital piano. The condition of my headphones was like new, until a few days ago when the pleather/vinyl covering on one earned tore. I guess it got a bit brittle after so many years in the closet. I found these authentic Sony ear pads and they are even more comfortable than the originals. Thank you to other customers who posted here explaining that you have to be patient and be methodical when installing. They are TIGHT, but that's good because you don't want them bagging out and falling off. I kind of thought they were super expensive but worth it for the Sony quality. In fact, I checked the Sony parts website and found that, when you include shipping, it's about $1 less going through Amazon. I still would like the warranty info on these, so I sent a message to the seller to provide it. All major manufacturers have a warranty. Very happy with these, and I'm glad I decided not to go the cheap route.

Con el tiempo los pads originales de los audifonos se desgastan y comienzan a deshacerse. Estos reemplazos quedan perfectamente bien en los audifonos. La única observación es que es un poco complicado colocarlos, aunque no requieren pegamento ni nada adicional para quedar en su lugar.
