Buy Melody 50 pcs Premium 1-6x BD-R Blu-ray Recordable White Inkjet Printable Blank Disc, 25GB. Made in Taiwan.: BD-R - desertcart.com โ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases Review: Perfect Backups! - These Melody BD-R 25GB discs have performed great. I have not had a failed burn yet. As mentioned by others, these discs have media ID's of: INFOME-R40 (INFOME-R30- older). If you google "INFOME-R40 or R30" you can find comprehensive reviews of the quality of the dozen or so actual disc manufacturers. The Melody (INFOME-R40) are near the top of all BD-R 25GB discs available, quality and longevity wise. They are made in Taiwan. I burn my DVD and Blu-Ray discs on three different drives: LG WH14NS40; LG WH12LS38; and a LG WH10LS30. All have been updated to the latest firmwares. As such, all three have also worked fine with these Melody BD-R blank discs. The LG WH14NS40 also supports BDXL discs and M-discs. I have been burning the Melody BD-R discs with the maximum speed set at 4X for these LG drives. However, I also have "speed control" enabled on AnyDVD so it decides the best burn speed. Burn times have been about 38-45 minutes. Meanwhile, I burn Data Discs with IMGBurn, and they have all been good too. I use Aiseesoft Blu-ray Copy which has tons of editing features: BD50 to BD50; clone; BD50 to BD25; full disc; movie only; user specified control over chapter selection and audio tracks plus subtitles total control. It just always produces playable BDs with these Melody discs. I wish Melody made BD50 blancs too. At just over 50 cents each the Melody BD-R discs have proven to be a great value. Review: Melody 50 pcs Premium 1-4x BD-R Blu-ray Recordable White Inkjet Printable Blank Disc, 25GB. Made in Taiwan. - I have never encountered this name brand anywhere else and I could not find reviews on the product either. I took a chance on this media because desertcart has an A to Z guarantee on everything sold on their site. This media was manufactured by CMC Magnetics, all of their media likely is. Most people who know quality consider CMC media middle of the road at best with some lots with lots of bad burns. But, I am on a tight budget. These came in at $1 ea. The cheapest bluray media I have bought was 80 cents ea. I have bought Verbatim for $1.40 ea. I had got 2 bad burns with the Melody media 50pk. can which I consider great. You will get about 5 bad burns per 100 even with the best media. These are my recommendations when you are using cheap media if you don't want alot of bad burns. Burn at 1/2 the rated burn speed on the label, in this case 2x. YES, it will take 45min. to burn a full disc. But you WILL save from having bad burns. I hands down highly recommend Imgburn. I believe it to be the best CD/DVD/Bluray burning software on the face of the planet. And it's freeware. With other programs one calibration error or cyclic redundancy error and you have a $1 coaster. Imgburn is set up by default to retry 20 times before failing a burn. I have actually had a blank retry 6 or 7 times before continuing and in the end play back just fine in all players. I also recommend VSO inspector. It's also free. It will compare your media against a database of burn reports in your model of burner. So, if you have more than 1 burner, use the burner with the highest reliability with your media. If you are getting bad burns, that burner likely does not work well with the madia. Try switching to another burner. I did get a few blanks, that while they played all the way through just fine, would not skip chapters at one point in the movie. You would get a freeze frame with the audio only from the next chapter. But you could back up and fast forward through the chapter. I would not consider that to be a bad burn because the disc played just fine. For the money, I would buy this media again.

great product good price
I was so excited about the price and the quality because they burned Ok on my Memorex bluray burner with very few coasters. At first they played ok in all my blu ray players. so I placed one or two more orders thinking I have found the best and cheapest bluray blank discs. Now, four months later, some are failing to play correctly. They don't play on any of the 3 bluray disc players that I have access to ( Sony, Samsung & Philips bluray players). They play the first 10 to 15 minutes and then freeze. I you have them, the best way to check if they are still playable is to skip a few chapters and then let them play a few seconds of each chapter. Once they reach the damaged area they freeze. If you are able to skip chapters to the end of the discs, then yours are still good. This is a revised review because I previously gave them one star and then I noticed that most of the failing discs are Memorex and not Melody. Now I am trying to figure out why some of my blu ray discs are failing. I will let you know as soon as I find out. For now I would definitely recommend them to a friend and the shipping is prompt too. Update: Excellent discs. As of April 2014 I upgraded to a newer LG burner and now no more issues. My old memorex BD burner is to blame for all my issues with these discs in the past. Buy them!!!

About 10-15% Coasters
While these discs are pretty cheap be prepared to get a number of coasters. My success rate is around 85-90% which is not as low as some but still pretty bothersome. On the successful discs burned I cannot yet attest to how long they will last (I sent a bunch out to a client a couple of months ago and have not heard any complaints... yet). I'm on my second batch of discs now and will report back with how many coasters I got out of that. If it is higher I'll give an extra star.

Good BD-R discs!
I ordered two of these 50 packs on 8/5 and received discs with INFOMER40 MID, not the specified INFOMER30 MID. INFOMER30 is 4x media. INFOMER40 is 6x media despite the 4x labeling on the package. Both are made by Infomedia Inc. in Taiwan. In my two burners Pioneer BDR-206 (1.06 Firmware) and Lite-on iHBS112 2 (PL06 Firmware) the INFOMER40 media burns very well with excellent burn quality scans with very low LDC and BIS counts. Initial burn quality (LDC and BIS counts) puts it pretty much on par with the best burning BD-R discs available. Specifically 4x BD-R discs made by Falcon Technologies International in the UAE with a TDKBLBRBB MID, Verbatim 6x (HTL, not the cheaper LTH) discs made in Taiwan with a VERBATIMe MID, and Panasonic 2x and 4x BD-R discs made in Japan MEI-T01-001 & MEI-T02-001 MID respectively. These INFOMER40 discs seems to burn best at 6x in the Lite-On iHBS112 2 and at 4x in the Pioneer BDR-206. Please note that based on disc quality scans posted on some forums it seems INFOMER40 discs do not burn as well as INFOMER30 in some BD-R drives. This is not the case for the drives I have, but it is something to be aware of. Ultimately, given the price and the burn quality, these Melody BD-R discs are probably the best low cost media choice available in the US today and may well be one of the best choices ignoring price.

No coasters UPDATED one coaster on prior order Sept2013
Used to backup a failing data drive with linux tools, every one completed correctly and are bootable, and usable with puppylinux with multisession saves and Debian Linux spinoffs. Can't say if the problems people have are related to the software or operating systems. But most issues I've had burning data discs are related to the 'Ubiquitous' OS found on most home computers. The burn size is actually 24G, so I was short one disc from completing my task. Burn Speed avg. 3.3X for my setup. UPDATE: speed improved to 4X with newer x14 burner, on last two orders. One disc was bad out of 100, most likey due to damaged by poor packing it was the bottom disc, Amazon ignored last two packaging errors, other on-line shippers BR disc bulk arrived eggaxctly like they should, but That product at this price point was only 3X and had a glossy top that even a sharpy had issues. Last order also had 'flood' damage with the bottom 20ish discs still wet in some strong solvent.

Discs Not Recognized by Computer Burner
I purchased this product on price alone, as I've not yet found a blank blu-ray product that didn't work. However, I have a Pioneer Blu-Ray burner in my computer, and it does not recognize these blanks. It's as if there is no blank disc in the computer at all. Some reviewers here have had no problem at all, so my guess is this product is not a complete failure, but I do not recommend this to users with a Pioneer burner in their computer.

A good price for decent BluRay discs
A few coasters, but mostly very good burns. These are Infome R40, not R30. They burn very well at 4x and pretty well at 6x in my LiteOn burner. I use these for storing footage from the camcorders. The discs are decent thickness, and the print fine, and you can print the hub as well. Color is a sort of muddy blue-brown on the dye side, and the printable surface is white--ink from an inkjet printer sticks very well and dries quickly. Plays in the standalone. So, basically, very good for the price, and much better quality than most of the other cheap discs, including Ritek.
