Never grew despite being in SC where these grow wild. Followed all instructions. I grow lots of plants from seed, but this is a very poor container for seed starting as it doesn’t drain. Soil compacted by the end of 3 months. From regular watering with “ distilled water” as per instruction. Photo week 1 and week 12 look the same, I just have less water…..

Got my venus fly trap kit overnight. It does take some weeks to germinate them from seeds, but it looks like fun. Can't wait to see them grow. Comes complete with everything.

Beware of scam. Says it takes months to germinate. I was going to return because nothing grows in this thing, but got snowed in for 2 weeks. Missed the return date, so I got stuck with a plastic tub and a rock.

I was really hesitant to order this kit after reading all of the reviews, but my kids wanted VSP's very badly and I figured it would be a fun summer project regardless so what's a couple bucks for their enjoyment, right? The seeds are extremely tiny, so be extremely careful when setting it all up. I had 10 seeds in my packet and spread them all out around the terrarium just as the instructions directed, watered them with rain water I collected in a cup the night before, and proceeded to stick it in my window with no actual hope anything would grow. It created a perfect rainforest like effect and I've honestly only watered it that one time this whole time. After a few weeks I saw nothing but moss starting to grow, got disappointed, and I admit we eventually forgot about it's existence 😅 Well, it's been a good 3 months now, we started this back on May 18th and it's August 5th now, and I noticed it still sitting in the window. Went to toss it out and saw these 3 little babies absolutely THRIVING in there! Honestly impressed it actually worked considering all of the negative reviews. I guess if you really want to start VSP from seeds, the best thing to do is follow the directions and then forget you started them 😅

Does not grow. The seeds are probably dead and never had a chance. Wasted my time and money. Just go to your local lowes store and buy the plant already grown and alive. It clearly says it takes about 3 months, but nothing is growing, just green moss. They won't even let you have your money back even though they were frauds and took you for your money. DO NOT BUY THIS!!

I followed the directions and I'm seeing what appears to be mold where the seeds may have been. I say "seeds may have been," because the seeds are extremely small. They look like specs of dirt, and I don't know exactly where they landed in the soil. I also had to distill water for this which was a pain. I could have bought the water to save the trouble, but buying water is ridiculous when it comes out of my faucet for nearly nothing. See if you can beat my time. To make the needed 3/4 of a cup, took me two hours of boiling one gallon down. The return time line just so happens to end before I will know if these seeds actually germinate. So know ahead of time this is not an easy plant to start, and if you pull a dud you're going to be out a few dollars. Update: They did not germinate. Though I do have an awesome still now.

My son loves the idea of a venous fly trap plant so he was excited to revieve this. I guess it takes special water to water the plant and the plant is picky. We got about 4 that started to grow but them died right after. I'm pretty sure it was our fault but it is harder to grow than we were led to believe.

Followed the instructions to a T and still didnt work.

It has a small sprout already

un peu trop cher,et pas de garanti que ca vas pousser,rien ne pousse,j ai de l eau distillé,placer a clarté mais pas direct au soleil,ni trop chaud ni trop froid,très décu,ca dit plusieurs semaines.i bought seeds elswhere,n i realised,was none in it or all crushed

Have not set it up yet, but it is a nice venus fly trap growing kit.

Followed the directions to a tee and nothing happened
