I recently purchased the FLIR ONE Gen 3 - iOS - Thermal Camera for Smart Phones, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! This little gadget has transformed my world into a colorful, thermal wonderland. At first, I was skeptical about the capabilities of a thermal camera for my phone, but this little gem has exceeded all of my expectations. The MSX Image Enhancement Technology is a game-changer, allowing me to see things in thermal imaging that I never thought possible. It's like my own personal superpower! One of the first things I did with my FLIR ONE was to take it on a ghost hunt with some friends. We were exploring an old abandoned building, and the FLIR ONE picked up all sorts of strange heat signatures. We found out that the ghost we were looking for was actually just a raccoon living in the attic, but it was still a fun experience nonetheless. I've also used the FLIR ONE to investigate some strange noises coming from my attic. I was convinced that there was some sort of monster living up there, but it turns out it was just a pesky squirrel. Thanks to the FLIR ONE, I was able to see exactly where it was hiding and evict it from my home. But the real fun with the FLIR ONE is just exploring the world around me. I've used it to see where my cat likes to sleep during the day (turns out it's on top of the fridge), to see which of my houseplants are getting the most sunlight, and to check the temperature of my coffee (because who doesn't want to know that?). Overall, I give the FLIR ONE Gen 3 - iOS - Thermal Camera for Smart Phones five out of five stars. It's a little pricey, but it's worth every penny for the endless entertainment and utility it provides. Plus, it makes me feel like a superhero, and who doesn't want that? It also has a wider temperature range and longer battery life. However, the FLIR ONE Gen 3 has a slightly larger field of view and a shorter minimum focus distance, which may be useful in certain applications. In terms of compatibility, both cameras have apps that are compatible with iOS devices, but the SEEK Compact Pro also has an app that is compatible with Android devices. Overall, the SEEK Compact Pro is a more advanced thermal imaging camera with higher resolution and better features, but it is also more expensive than the FLIR ONE Gen The choice between the two will depend on your specific needs and budget.

Just wanted to take the time to review this, honestly and without leaving anything out. This device is very useful for checking for hot/cold differences (like if your gaming laptop is overheating or air conditioner isn't cooling enough). The FLIR ONE app is easy to use, but the guides on how to find home heating issues (air leak, insulation issues, or moisture detection) require a yearly subscription (in USD, $29.99). The actual imagery is really good (for now, at least). Like others have said, there's two cameras: one visible spectrum, the other infrared-sensitive. One reviewer wrote that there's no option to adjust the superimposition of the visible-spectrum image; i can tell you right now this is dead false. On the bottom left of the screen is an icon of two offset squares; this is the alignment adjustment. No taping over the visible-spectrum camera is needed. I do want to mention that this device seems to be better suited to close-up examinations (like up to 5-10 feet) and objects get less recognizable the farther you go. Remember, this is just like any other lensed product: it has a focal distance and range in which it works best. CONS: battery life is about 1 hr. Not great, but come on, a device this small, what did you expect? Then again, maybe FLIR could have engineered it to work off the phone's battery, but it would still drain battery; at least it only takes 40 minutes to charge, which should be enough during a drive between job sites if you're a HVAC contractor. Another CON: it takes about 20 secs to power up and connect; the manual and the app do mention this downtime, so anyone complains about the load time from this point on is just being ignorant. Again, all devices have some bootup time, even your smartphone or TV. Oh, and before I forget, yes, you CAN flip it around and take selfies with it! (See attached selfie)

I bought this FLIR camera in order to find where I'm deficient in insulation in my house. I also figured that I could use it to scan my AC panel to look for loose/hot connections. I was going to buy a harbor frieght camera first, but the screen was super small, so I figured that this would be better. It does kind of do the job. You can see color variations when scanning the walls, but it is very grainy and you can't adjust the contrast of the picture of the regular camera vs FLIR. There is not a lot of definition, but you may not need there to be either. If you move too fast while scanning, it will freeze until it can catch up. I think for the money, it is ok for the homeowner that isn't going to use it very often. If I were going to use it for work, I'd definitely step up to the next version higher.

Ich nutze sie mit einem iPhone 13 Mini vorrangig um damit feuchte Stellen am Haus zu finden. Diese sind nämlich kälter als umliegendes Mauerwerk und somit deutlich blau gefärbt in der Standartansicht. Als Foto und Video habe ich je eine unbearbeitete Aufnahme von unserem Küchenboden eingefügt wodurch man super den Verlauf der Fußbodenheizung sieht. Ein überraschendes Extra ist das mitgelieferte, robuste Case, das nicht in der Produktbeschreibung stand. Dieses Case bietet ausgezeichneten Schutz. Bei der Lieferung bemerkte ich kleine schwarze Fusseln in der Verpackung. Zunächst dachte ich, es könnte sich um ein bereits benutztes Produkt handeln, aber das Gerät war in perfektem Zustand. Die FLIR One funktioniert toll mit verschiedenen Apps, die im App Store erhältlich sind oder direkt über die FLIR One App verlinkt werden. Die Kfz-Inspektions-App mit Tutorials ist besonders hilfreich, und mit der Desktop-Version gibt es noch mehr Möglichkeiten. Ein wichtiger Tipp für Nutzer, die ihr iPhone mit MagSafe laden: Die Ladebuchse kann durch Staub und Schmutz aus der Hosentasche verstopfen, ohne dass man es merkt. Kleine Silikonverdeckungen für den Lightning-Connector können helfen, die Verbindung zur Kamera sauber und stabil zu halten. Anders als Nachtsichtgeräte, die eine begrenzte Reichweite haben, nimmt die FLIR One Wärme ähnlich wie das menschliche Auge sichtbares Licht wahr. Ihre Reichweite ist daher vergleichbar mit dem, was wir mit unseren Augen sehen können. Die Anleitung könnte noch verbessert werden, aber insgesamt ist die FLIR One eine fantastische Wahl für jeden, der eine zuverlässige Wärmebildkamera für sein iPhone sucht. Die Version für Android kann ich nicht beurteilen.

Very little to dislike about this. My plumber came round to fix 4 new rads on an existing circuit in our kitchen and brought his thermal imaging camera (a £500 piece of kit!)... he didn't find / see anything additional (on this occasion) to this little iPhone attachment!! Really is brilliant and really accurate too. Can take a little while to calibrate, but for the savings you'll make over the hugely more expensive pieces of kit out there, this is a bargain and I'm so pleased I've got mine.. it's surprising how much I've used it to find heat leaks in windows / rooves etc.

Excellent product with only two small drawbacks. If you have an older phone (mine is a 1st gen iPhone SE) then you won't have full functionality, although what you do have is pretty good. Also, the available desktop app only works on a PC. Unbelievably they have not designed a desktop app for Mac which is very disappointing. Flir made this product for an iPhone yet there is no support for further use beyond the phone itself. Hope they get it together on this one.
