I would assume that all garmin power cords are universal but do some more research. **Q: my car does not have a cigarette lighter conection but does have 12 voly and usb connectors. Does this device connect with 12 volt and usb to chargej** A: I have the Garmin Nuvi 50, and the cable that comes with it - and this one - is absurdly short. It doesn't reach from the cigarette lighter/12 volt plug and the windshield. My brother-in-law had a generic usb-to-usb mini, and it worked just fine. I have also used the cable from my old BlackBerry phone (which is also USB mini), and it worked fine too. It is NOT unique, and you should not have to rig anything up. A nice length USB to USB mini should work just fine. This cord is more robust than the original. In case you are wondering, do NOT purchase a non-Garmin cord for your Garmin GPS. Something else may power it, but the GPS functionality will not be the same, or some functions may not even work.
