Insta-Bed Raised Air Mattress with Never Flat Pump

This mattress has a known product defect that appears to be ignored by the manufacturer. We purchased the mattress in May 2016. It was used rarely (maybe 4 times), and always deflated and stored in clean, dry place after use. This week we tried to inflate the mattress for use and the seal around the nameplate/pump valve insertion immediately separated from the PVC mattress, resulting in a continuous leak. An attempt to glue and clamp with appropriate PVC glue failed. A call to the manufacturer, Insta-Bed, Inc, informed us that we were out of warranty (we knew this, one year warranty) but that they would send us some patch kits (which they did). We insisted that the problem was not just a hole in the mattress material but a separation between two different materials, and that their patch material would not be useful. Frustrated, and without the use of a previously fully functional and liked mattress I called American Express, the credit company that I use to purchase all large ticket items. True to form American Express honored their extended warranty (1 year past the original manufacturer's warranty) and refunded me the purchase price.We are researching alternative inflatable mattresses. Based on the number of similar complaints from other online reviewers of this mattress, we cannot recommend this mattress - unless the purchaser is OK with a one year product. based on the complaints and our experience with the manufacturer, we believe that the manufacturer has an obligation to research this product defect and consider a solution.

I really liked this bed at first. It was delivered to me on November 25, 2017, and I’ve been using it since then on a daily basis.Last week it developed a leak. This was not a puncture leak. It was a manufacture design defect that developed on its own. See picture. It is a very tiny leak, but has rendered the bed useless. The bed came with two patches, and both have failed. I’ve ordered a highly recommended patch repair glue from an Amazon supplier and will see that how works.Follow up review January 26, 2018. I raised the rate from two to four stars. I was able to repair the leak using a bicycle tire inner tube repair kit, ‘Slime 1022-A Rubber Tube Patch Kit with Glue’, which you can find for sale on Amazon. The repair is working well. So to everyone else encountering what seems to be an unrepairable leak on this bed, don’t throw away it way just yet. Try the repair that I used.

I bought this exact same bed about a year and a half ago and the bed was so good I bought a second one this last December. I also bought a memory foam topper (not from Amazon). Guests who slept on the first bed with the topper never failed to ask where I got this unbelievably comfortable air bed!So, why two stars? Well, my second purchase, while comfortable, doesn't live up its predecessor. The first bed I got (bought from exactly the same link - I checked) is bigger in all respects - and a much more comfortable height. Also, when you put the bedding on, you can't tell it's an air bed. The second bed was a big let-down (well, literally!). In comparison to the first one, it looks like a bed you'd use for camping. The sku printed on both beds is 870017. Supposedly the same thing.I was so disappointed and would have returned it but I received the bed just before my guests arrived. So I was stuck.I've attached photo of the two beds together. Too bad they took a perfect product and reduced it to mediocre.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I thought this was a good purchase until it started leaking. The seal broke literally a month after the 1 year warranty passed of course. Right where the automatic vacuum is secured in the bed the coating separated. I hardly used this bed and the seal still broke. Do not recommend purchasing, seems like it is faulty manufacturing. Spend the extra money and get a quality mattress that will last longer than a few uses. Very disappointed.

I plugged it in and filled it up. After the primary pump turned off, the secondary "Never Flat" pump turned on and never turned off, making a noticeable, high-pitched whine. I understand from other reviews that the secondary pump may need 20 minutes or so to fully inflate the mattress, especially when it is new. I left it running for 6 hours and the pump never turned off, making the loud sound the whole time.Maybe the secondary pump was broken, but as I look through other reviews, I see that this has happened before.Amazon returns are great. I'd be angry to be ripped off the cost of the mattress without Amazon's return policy. As it is, I'm just annoyed that a product with such poor quality controls is being sold.

Gracias a algunas otras opiniones, sabia de antemano que este era tamaño matrimonial, lo cual era justo lo que quería. Pero a mi el tamaño no era un factor importante, tanto como que fuese funcional. Antes de usarla, la probé un par de días a inflarla y dejarla desconectada para asi para ver cuanto aire perdía. Es muy poco el aire perdido comparado a otras camas que tengo. Después comenzamos a ocuparla y se mantiene excelentemente inflada gracias a la bomba secundaria. Aun y si apago la bomba secundaria, es muy poco lo que se desinfla, por lo que tranquilamente puedo dejar la bomba secundaria apagada y usar solo la primaria para reinflarla todos los días que la necesito. Excelente, comparado a las otras camas que tengo en las que casi amanezco en el suelo de tanto aire que pierden. Así que hasta ahorita y después de casi 2 semanas de uso, sigue funcionando perfecta, por lo que puedo recomendarla.

I Purchase this bed in 2017 and used it for a spare bed for company. I was only slept on for about 2 periods when suddenly over the top of the no flat pump I marked in the photo with a red line the plastic pump was separating and it's appears to be glued in. It developed a large leak so no way to repair since it's where the pump meets the plastic material. This bed is not worth the money and when I attempted to generate a return on the product it appears amazon has decided to no accept it.Total Garbage not worth the money Amazon.

This mattress repeatedly, seven times, formed pin-sized holes and leaked. The holes occur at the seams, and the patch, included with the package, does not seal these types of holes. Within two months, the mattress violently burst at yet another seam, while I was resting on it. This time, there was a gaping hole. A collapse. Not another slow leak. This product is headed for the curb. Caveat emptor.
