As an artist of many years I highly recomend this book. *by B***. on August 12, 2024* The perfect book for anyone who wants to draw flowers & their leaves and bring them to life with shading. It also shows the bud & a 2nd position of the flower.Don't dismiss this book because it is not in color. It has very easy steps of how to draw perfect specific flowers & their leaves & if you need the color go on the internet to your browser & search for the specific flower & you will get all the colors it comes in. The website Pinterest is also excellent for getting the color of flowers. For vine flowers the book shows the flower, stem & leaf but not put together as a vine but you can get the vine from the internet. You can also search "how to draw" & name the specific flower & generally you will get a finished drawing of the flower in color. The internet drawing instructions are not as specific as in the book. This book is great for both the beginner, art student & even the seasoned artist. I have been drawing for over 70 years & always struggled with flowers. My flowers have2 shapes, thin or fat petals & most of my flowers were unidentified. I can do a daisy, water lilly, clematis & sunflower & anything else is a generic flower. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent drawing tutorial *by K***R on February 26, 2025* Step by step illustrations of how to develop the drawing of a flower or plant. I streamed thus book thru Kindle Unlimited. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Desk Reference *by E***S on May 18, 2023* This book catalogs a sampling of basic flower and leaf shapes in a step-by-step drawing presentation.Pros:1) It shows you how to construct and evolve each type of plant part to a finished rendering.2) This is a good study book for art beginners to sketch and learn the different flowers and leaves and their parts.3) This is a good desktop reference when deciding on a floral composition to draw or paint.Cons:1) The print is very light which makes it visual struggle to see in detail.For some reason, publishers these days have gotten into this pale print mode. I suspect a profit motive in that lighter print means a cheaper, less pigment-saturated printing ink. Whatever the reason, a design choice or maximizing profits, it's a truly annoying practice that I wish publishers would vacate. I find this pale gray print in regular reading books, too, which makes them difficult to read and does not encourage reading because of this inserted and unnecessary reading obstacle.2) The names/label of each plant or leaf is positioned in the upper corner of the page; printed sideways.
