With normal tools/picks it is practically unpickable, a disc detainer locksmith tool+plenty time is needed to open it without a key. You get a lot of security for your money with this lock.
Review: Tough robust padlock for its purpose - This padlock has a difficult to copy key - so I have been secure in knowing that the cupboard it is locking, is unlikely to be picked. I cannot take the key out of the padlock without relocking: this is great too as it means I don't walk off accidentally with the lock still open.

**Q: Hardened, does it mean the shackle is just steel or some form of boron or carbide that supposedly makes it harder to cut? My bike is dear to me.**
A: Hardened, to me, means that the steel has fewer impurities. If I had an good bike, I would probably use at least 2 locks and a tracking device attached. My friend has a really ugly bike and a really good looking bike. What most people don't know is the really ugly bike is worth more that the good looking bike, and nobody steals the ugly bike. I bought this lock for a storage unit. I also bought it because it was made in Germany.  Solid as can be!

**Q: Does this come with spare key?**
A: Yes my lock came with two keys

**Q: Will this fit diameter of typical gym locker?**
A: Yes it fits the locker's where I work out.

**Q: Will this fit most pelican cases?  i'm thinking of buying this for a pelican 1510.  anybody know?**
A: Fit my im3100 storm case just fine

It is a high security lock for a very good price.The disc sylinder system used here is normally found on more expensive padlocks. With normal tools/picks it is practically unpickable, a disc detainer locksmith tool+plenty time is needed to open it without a key. You get a lot of security for your money with this lock.

Very nice quality. Fitted to an outdoor gate and so far working perfectly. The previous cheap lock rusted, but this looks like it should last.
