Rock solid, and a GREAT value.
This is probably my 4th or 5th one; several have gone as gifts, and the rest grace my older vehicles. I loved these when they were $30-$40, but at $15 or so, they are incredible. I purchased a couple of other brands early on, but discovered several features that rendered them useless - they wouldn't return to the preset station every time you shut the vehicle off (so you had to reprogram them every time, no thanks) and wouldn't automatically start without pairing the Bluetooth. The X3 is seamless - you plug it in, pair it up (it will even find an "open" FM frequency for you), set one of your radio presets to that frequency, and once you (initially) pair the X3 with your phone, it works every time. As I say, I have one in multiple vehicles, and no matter which vehicle I am in, it starts when the car starts, and begins playing music from exactly where I left off. I don't have to press a button or do anything. I tend not to answer phone calls in the car or place them, but when I have done it through the stereo, it also works perfectly. I'm guessing that many of these devices now will automatically "pair up" and start - but this one has worked for me every time, for years now. In fact, I just gave one to a friend who has an older vehicle, and he was overjoyed at how easy it was to turn his old stereo into a fully compatible Bluetooth. And for $15, rather than a whole new stereo install? Easy choice. Some folks have concerns about the "straight stick" plug-in, so it is important to realize whether this model (as opposed to the more expensive goose-neck flexible model) will intrude into your dash or console in an awkward way, but that hasn't been an issue with me. In one car, it is inside the console compartment and still works flawlessly. In the others, it is in the outlet next to the console shifter and never interferes with any driving function. And you can charge your phone with it even while listening to tunes - mine all have the requisite lightning cable which I keep attached, so I can just plug it in when I start my car and get that extra few minutes of juice while I drive (and play tunes the whole time). If you get the sense I really like these, you are correct. My three vehicles are a 1970, a 1999, and a 2008, and none have an auxiliary input plug or Bluetooth. This works in all three.

Good option if you don't want to replace the stereo
This has been a nice purchase. I'm still not completely sold on the clarity of the device and fumbling through stations when one station starts to pick up signal and then this thing cuts out. I was expecting that though. I do like the compactness of this, as opposed to the larger version. This does connect upon entering your car if your Bluetooth on your device is turned on, and will start playing. If you have the money and time, I would suggest just putting in a new stereo in your car with the capabilities already there. Of course, that's not always an option though and this is a nice alternative. Just remember that clarity might be a bit lacking and you will have to change stations from time to time - on your stereo and your GOgroove.

Works Great!
I couldn't be more satisfied. I now have Bluetooth capability for hands free calling and Pandora or my own music from my phone. It literally took me less than a couple of minutes to set this up. It paired immediately and started playing my music. It syncs and remembers your volume settings each time you start your accessory power in your car. The quality is less than CD quality, I'd say it's about 7-8 out of 10 for comparison (depending on the quality of your radio tuner), but the convenience is undeniable. It's an inexpensive way to have modern technology in an older car without replacing the entire radio/cd head unit. The music sound is clear and the phone connection is more than acceptable. It will automatically mute the sound when you initiate or receive a call. I don't have to, but I still use the phone to start and end calls. It will also mute the music and broadcast my phone's map navigation/directions when I use it for traveling. It just works. It appears to be rugged, but I've only had it for a few weeks. It does have a three year guarantee. I purchased this one with the fixed neck so as not to have to bend and wear out the type with the flexible neck. Don't buy the cheap ones from China. This one works. I'll update with an extended report later.

Cheap product - Wouldn't recommend
I just got this device few hours ago. Here are some points: 1. The packing is ridiculous, you have to break the package to take it out, not open it, but who cares. 2. The little screen on the top that shows the FM frequency and supposed to host the answer and reject buttons is not well fitted in place, coming out from the top of the screen. 3. Paired with the phone rather easy. 4. The buttons on the side of the screen are very hard to press and feels like I'm gonna break something every time I press either of them, and the response time is pretty lame. 5. The button you press that is supposed to "AUTO-SCAN automatically finds an ideal FM station" according to product description, doesn't do that, just stopped at 88.1 which is probably the first frequency on the scale, and does have a channel, so sound quality was really bad, I had to manually search for a channel, but this is something hopefully done once, so who cares. 5. Music and phone call transmission over bluetooth was pretty clear to me and to the people I called to test it. 6. Music and phone call transmission over the audio cable was really bad, could hardly hear the other caller, no matter how much you raise the volume. In conclusion, I regret buying it, think I might return it if anything else goes bad and I don't recommend it.

Cool little device
Pros: The device works as described. Once you find a station with good reception, there is very little background static. Audio quality is fine, better than I expected, as long as you turn your phone's blue tooth volume up all the way. I had no issues pairing it with my Galaxy S4. Now when I start up the truck, it connects to my phone and starts playing music(most of the time). Cons: Occasionally it doesn't connect to the phone automatically and I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to re-establish connection. As others have noted, the voice quality over the phone is not that great. But I didn't really buy it for making phone calls. You will need a magnifying glass to read the instruction manual. Overall it is a great device if you have an older vehicle with a radio that doesn't support Bluetooth audio. Not sure how sturdy it is but it comes with a 3 year warranty. I would recommend it to a friend.

Worked great until it stopped after 2 weeks
It worked great. Using iInternet radio from my phone on the Flexsmart x3 was maybe just a notch below a good fm station from the car radio. But the sound was still good. On phone calls people had trouble hearing me a time or two. Since the Flexsmart is plugged into the car outlet I wonder if sometimes it is too far away. The unit I purchased quit working after about 2 weeks. I was listening to Internet radio through the Flexsmart. It was working fine. I decided to make a phone call. I made it, but the person said they couldn't hear me. I called again not using the transmitter. Then after I finished the conversation wanted to listen to Internet radio through my phone. But I couldn't get it to work. I tried different things. Nothing worked. So, I searched the website for support. I couldn't fine a number to call. So I emailed. I received a response back 24 hours later. They said to return it and gave me a list to requirements. We have had 3 or 4 emails back and forth and each time it takes them 24 hours to respond to my email. So, customer support is rather slow and not very responsive. I bought this because of the great reviews. But beware if you get a defective transmitter, it's a frustrating experience. I will update after I return my defective flexsmart x3 and get another. I am Not a happy owner at this time.

Solid product! Great choice!
I have a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD phone, and my sole reason for ordering the FlexSMART X3 was to stream music from Pandora over my car speakers. Set-up out of the box was very fast, and pairing it via Bluetooth was a breeze. I went with the station that was already tuned in on the X3 and that worked fine. So far, so good. However, almost immediately, the songs began to skip and break up for no reason. There would be dozens of little skips per song all throughout the playback. I found this to be VERY annoying, as you might expect! My initial reaction was to blame the X3, of course. But I quickly realized that the songs seemed to be skipping due to the phone's inability to adequately stream to the X3 via Bluetooth. After doing some research, I made 3 key adjustments: 1) ALWAYS have at least 50% battery life on your phone. Any less battery life and you will be jeopardizing the phone's ability to stream via Bluetooth with a strong enough signal. 2) Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings > select Visibility timeout > select Never timeout. (Turn your phone off then back on after doing so in order to save this change if it was on another setting). 3) In the event that your audio DOES begin skipping again, you will need to power your phone completely off for a few minutes, then turn it back on. This should eliminate the problem as long as #1 and #2 are in effect. Upon doing all three of these things, I have experienced NO skipping issues whatsoever!! The audio quality is amazingly good over my car's stock speakers. Actually, I have noticed that it delivers much better bass than the FM radio over these same speakers! Also, I have yet to have any trouble with any static over the FM station so far. On another note, the phone call quality is just okay, in my opinion - but that's not why I bought this thing! In closing, if you're looking for affordable audio playback from your phone over your car speakers, the FlexSMART X3 is an exceptional choice!

X3 works okay, has some feature improvements, but X2 is better value and performance
Having owned the GOgroove FlexSMART X2 for a couple of years, and being very satisfied, I really looked forward to the newer version. Compared to the X2 I really like the new styling and find it better integrates with my car's interior than the cumbersome gooseneck of the X2. Bluetooth pairing with my iPods (touch) and Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S5, and daughter's IPhones 4 & 6, were all super easy. While the X3 remembers all these devices, switching from one to another does mean pulling the device from the 12V outlet to turn it off and plugging it back in to recognize the previously paired device. The X2 was slightly more convenient in this respect as it has an on/off button, which the X3 lacks. The X3 does now have volume controls (the X2 doesn't) but I really don't use them, leaving my Bluetooth sources on max volume and using my regular car stereo controls instead. One other feature "improvement" I remain ambivalent about, when you restart the X3 it automatically begins playing from my iPod, right where I left off. On the X2 you simply push the Play / Pause button to accomplish the same thing. I think I prefer the control of starting my music when I want, so I'm not really sold on this being a real benefit for the X3. There is one area, an important one, where I really feel the X3 is inferior to the X2, and that unfortunately is in performance. I find the X3 at times varies considerably in sound quality, as though the source is too far away (even though they are inches apart) and occasionally the sound diminishes to a low volume while static increases. It's intermittent so I'm not sure if I have a bad unit or if this is indicative of the X3's typical performance. It's infrequent so I have not bothered to exchange the unit, though I still may. The bottom line for me is my X2 performs better at a lower price point (if you don't mind the X2's long gooseneck), while the X3 is just okay in performance but aesthetically nicer looking. Both offer a lot of bang for the relatively low price.

Ottimo prodotto

Buen funcionamiento y buen sonido
