They are also not "square" as another buyer mentioned. So it does not rest flush against a surface. If you're not worried about those aesthetics, then these might work for you. But they won't work for my projects. I use goof-off to clean mine of any oil residue, seems to work well and doesn't smell as bad as acetone. They fit well onto 1/2" threaded black iron pipe. The only issue was sharp material on some of the edges. It was simple enough to use pliers to pull the sharp parts off, and you couldn't even tell after they were painted, but still something to be noted.
