Cath Kidston's book 'Sew!' was perfect to get me back into sewing. The beginning of the book reviews supplies and terms used in sewing. The projects range from very easy to moderate difficulty. The supplies are provided to complete one project using Cath's adorable fabric. Success is almost guaranteed - and that is motivation enough to resume a hobby that had been sitting in a corner!

A fun books for small quick projects
Beginner or more experienced quilters alike will enjoy this book. The instructions are clear with lots of illustrations. The projects are from small to medium and I love the bright colors of the fabrics she used. I see this as a go to book for the fun quilt projects that refresh the palate between larger more complex quilting.

Unglaublich Inspirierend!
Was mich bei Amazon immer ärgert ist, daß man in die aller meisten Bücher keinen einzigen Blick hinein werfen kann und dann nicht wissen kann ob einem das Buch auch wirklich zu sagt. Darum hier erst mal eine Auflistung für welche Projekte hier Vorlagen drinnen sind: Zu aller erst natürlich die Tasche vom Cover, der dafür benötigte Stoff, Knöpfchen und ein kleiner Aufnäher sind in einem kleinen Beutel vorne im Buch drinnen. Der Stoff ist schon zu geschnitten und man braucht nur noch los legen. Eine richtig gute Idee finde ich! Ausserdem finden sich praktische Ideen wie Taschen und Beutel in 5 verschiedenen Ausführungen, zum Einkaufen oder auch eine vergrößerbare Badetasche. Auch kleine Geschenke die schnell fertig genäht sind wie Brillenetuis, Beutel für den MP3 Player, Schmuckaufbewahrungstasche, Babyspielzeug von kleinen Stofftieren bis einem Vögelchen Mobile alles dabei. Einführung ins Quilten mit einer Babydecke, eine Toiletttasche mit Reisverschluß. Wer ein wenig englisch kann dürfte mit dem Text keine Probleme haben. Es wird das metrische Systhem verwendet so das wir auch nicht umrechnen müßen. Wenn bei einem Stück mal ein etwas komplizierterer Arbeitssschritt dabei ist wird der extra mit einer Schritt für Schritt Fotoanleitung erklärt und ist dann auch für jemanden einfach zu nähen der damit noch keine Erfahrung gemacht hat. Alle Fotos sind sehr schön gemacht. Die verwedeten Stoffe sind auch schön allerdings bei uns eher schwer zu bekommen. Man muß unbedigt eine Nähmaschiene haben, die Arbeiten sind zu groß fürŽs nähen per Hand!Alle Vorlagen übersichtlich auf einem Vorlagebogen in Originalgröße.

Bellissimo
Ero gia' un'amiratrice di Cath Kidston. Poi ho avuto modo di sapere che ha scritto anche un libro, quindi l'ho acquistato. Bellissimi progetti per non dire che ci sono anche le materie prime (stoffa, carta modello, ecc) per cucire la borsa della copertina.

superbe livre en anglais livré avec un kit permettant la réalisation du sac figurant sur la couverture De nombreux projets faciles à réaliser et à adapter, de bonnes idées. Sa lecture nécessite un niveau d'anglais faible car les illustrations sont claires pour qui a déjà cousu.

A lovely book
I think this is a lovely book with interesting projects to tackle. It comes with precut CK fabric, buttons, and a CK label to make a little handbag (already claimed by my 8 year old daughter!) It also has a pattern sheet to cover all items in the book. There is a good selection of projects, many of which would be good for beginners (lavender bags, aprons, coathangers) and more difficult things too. I think ideally though, it would be useful to know your way round a sewing machine and have a bit of pattern cutting experience as the instructions on some of the projects could be confusing for beginners. I think it would be a great gift for anyone into making their own bits and pieces and who likes the shabby chic look. I got this book half price off Amazon which I thought was very good value.
