Excellent, but be careful.
I used this bit to rout mortises in walnut for 12, three inch hinges, using an MDF pattern. No issues with the bit, but, using a trim router, you have to rout out a little bit at a time. Try to cut too deeply and it grabs and runs away from you.

Excellent bit!
Very sharp, left a glass smooth finish on the sides of the recess that it was used to refine (I inlayed Kreg klamp trak into my workbench). The shank is longer than most pattern bits of its size, allowing it to be used slightly deeper than its 1/2 inch cutting length would suggest. It was able to easily clean out a 3/4 inch deep recess under a 1/2 inch plywood template (routing first with the template in place, and then with it removed), with plenty of shank in the collet. I highly recommend it! If you need even more reach with a top-bearing bit, take a look at Magnate 7621 Legacy Pattern Router Bits - 1/2" Cutting Diameter; 1/2" Cutting Length and Magnate 7623 Legacy Pattern Router Bits - 3/4" Cutting Diameter; 3/4" Cutting Length I have them on order for other projects.

SHARP, SHARP, SHARP!
This is an amazing bit. I bought it to make dados in 3/4 inch melamine. I was cutting the grooves 1/4 deep at 11,000 rpms and the moved at a medium feed rate. This bit is sharp! The cuts were crisp and the router never bogged down. This is my first Freud bit but it is now my new standard. The only reason this isn't a five star review has nothing to do with the product but the shipping was delayed by 4 days.

I used this bit to trim the tops of 6x6 ...
I used this bit to trim the tops of 6x6 deck posts so that solar lights designed to fit 4x4 posts would fit. The lights for 6x6 posts are just way too big for my taste. I made a template that fit the 4x4 lights out of 3/8" thick plywood, centered and screwed it to the top of each post and used it as a guide for my router and this bit. There was some tear out on the first post, but on the subsequent ones I scribed a line with my knife at the proper depth of cut and then ran a piece of masking tape around the post at the line and that stopped the tear out.
