My Canopy never moved!
These stakes worked great at the beach! I staked my Canopy in regular sand at the beach and even with the wind, it never moved. These are great quality. Strong plastic and they went deep into the sand, great length. They were easy to put in and easy to take out. Love the bright orange color so I didn't miss any when breaking down the Canopy. Great product!

Perfect for the beach!
I was torn between getting these or a more expensive product. There were not many reviews for this, but I rolled the dice because of the price and how many stakes I would get. We just got back from the Hilton Head and these stakes were amazing in the sand. Our Sportbrella did not budge in the high wind. They went in smoothly in soft sand and were so easy to get out. It required a little more elbow grease to use in wet, packed sand, but it did the job beautifully. Highly recommend!

Worked Great!
I'm really not sure at all what sort of bizarre, twisted thought came to my mind to make me want to tent camp on the Texas coast in the spring, but there you go. The wind was so bad that I had to tie everything to everything else - my tent to my truck, my canopy to my truck, my canopy to my tent, myself to the ground - no, really, it was bad. But one thing that impressed my socks off?...these sand screws stayed put. ALL my other stakes (for the shade canopy, the tent, the rain fly) all moved in the sand and had to be hammered back down several times a day. These sand screws stayed put the whole time and I never had to adjust them. Always good to find a product that does exactly what it's supposed to.

They're OK, but the handle is pretty small
You need to stick a rod through the hole on top to really spin these. A larger area for your hands so you can get leverage would make this much better. They seem sturdy for plastic stakes and held our easy up down when we were on the beach.

Perfect stakes.
Love these stakes. I am currently at a beach in South Carolina where the wind blows like crazy. The tent posts that came with the tent pulled out at the first wind storm. I was reluctant to the buy these as they seem so cheap and looked like they would pull out easily (after all, I am putting these tents into sand) after reading the reviews i decided to buy them. I am so glad I did. They were so easy to use, they are easy to remove and the value is incredible. They anchor great and I’ve never had a steak pull out. I don’t know whether you would call them thick, but you don’t want them to be bigger than they are. And they are thicker than they need be and the length is perfect. These pictures were taken at dark, but I think you can see them. I put the first one through the mat into the sand, and the rest are directly in the sand

NO Tipping
I ended up using these to secure two LED Christmas trees outside. These trees are top heavy and tend to tip over but these stakes really helped in keeping them up.

Works great in soft ground.
I still use the light stakes to lay out the tent but use these stakes for the tie down ropes when I'm camping in areas with soft soil. I haven't had them pull out or pull sideways through the ground like the standard tent stakes do. They also hold the tent vestibule out much better too.

Great replacement to the cheap little metal stakes that comes with most tents
I was looking to replace some lost/mangled/rusted stakes that came with a large 10 person tent. After receiving some screw type stakes for something else, I looked into getting something similar for the tent. I chose these because if the cost and they came in a 10-pack. I didn't think I needed that many but this large 3-room tent actually needed all ten. These stakes are study enough to drive with a mallet to to sink deep enough into the soft soil before using the screw to get it in tight. I didn't think I needed the longer 10" version but figured longer is better for holding up a tent that does get some tension in windy situations. I'm really glad I did that. I had no problems using all 10" for the tent. Be aware, if you got a hard patch, don't keep forcing it. I felt like I came close to over torquing it and that it was close to failure. At those moments I backed out out a little and then carefully dropped to slowly tighten it down again. If it doesn't want to turn, avoid the desire to stick a screwdriver or some other item into the home to use as a breaker bar, I'm sure that will snap the stake at the shaft. I'm very happy with the purchase. And they are brought yellow so they are easily seen.

These stakes were very good quality and heavy duty but I was intending to use them to hold down a tarp on a windy beach. Unfortunately the stakes did not fit the tarp holes so I couldn’t use them. It would be great if they had a smaller diameter for this purpose.
