This closer works really well. I love the button lock feature it is super easy to use. Installation was a breeze.

I got these to replace the door closers on our storm doors that had taken on a life of their own. These are solid and work well. Installation was easy peasy. Best of all, the latch on the closer is on the top, rather than on the side like most closers, so you can't accidentally hit the latch. I'm 100% satisfied with these.

Do not discard the plastic spacer. I had difficulty following instructions but once I got it installed, it works great. More sturdy than the original closer that the installer used. Quality = very good so far. Patience needed.

We have heavy glass storm doors at front and back of our home. They both had pneumatic closers with "slider" stops - where you have to push the door open with one hand, reach up with the other hand, and slide the metal stop along the rod until it touches the closer. My wife found them cumbersome, and I decided to replace the one on the back door when I saw that the metal holder (screwed into the door jamb), was bent and about to break. It took me about 10 mins to replace the failing holder with the new one that comes with this closer, then about 5 more minutes to get the closer installed and working. It's excellent. Open the door to 90 degrees, reach up and push up on the button, release the door, and it stays open at about 85 degrees. To close, just gently push the door to 90 degrees (you'll hear a click as the button releases), let go of the door, and it closes. So the only downside so far (as mentioned by others) is that it doesn't hold open at a full 90 degrees. However, my wife liked it so much that I immediately bought one for the front door. There, nothing was breaking, so it was a 30 second job to pull the two retaining pins, remove the existing closer, replace it with the new one, and re-install the pins. So, definite 5 stars so far. If either of them fails, I'll come back to edit this review, which is being posted in May 2025.

I bought this instead of the replacement part for my VERY heavy Larson door. The one that came with the door never felt sound, and had a ratcheting mechanism that I believe should not have. That sound was the locking feature slipping, likely due to the weight of the door. It blew out all it's grease in less than 2 years. The Greenstar Touch and Hold was rated for heavy doors, so I bought it instead. Easy to swap out. I keep waiting for the door to slip when propped open, but it's not. It sounds and feels secure, none of that "ratchet until it catches" business. I'll be buying one of these for my other storm door, too. Only downside is color selection. No complaints from me on that, though.

Didn't last a year. First the cylinder disconnected but still functioned. I think because the touch/push button got stuck. Them shortly after my kid opened the door and the spring busted open. Will try a different one.
