Huge Upgrade. Shines, Specially with the Right Genres
Upgraded my Fluance turntable to the Nagaoka MP-200, and the difference is immediately noticeable. The sound is smoother, more refined, and packed with detail. Where it really shines is with certain genres; jazz, soul, and acoustic recordings sound absolutely incredible. Vocals are rich and natural, instruments have great separation, and thereโs a warmth that makes long listening sessions a pleasure. Itโs not just an upgrade; itโs a real step up in overall musicality. If your setup can take advantage of it, this cartridge is something special.

Highly recommended, can use it with any Nagaoka cartridge body
I bought this as a present for a relative who already had a Nagaoka MP-110 cartridge and stylus. As you may or may not know, any Nagaoka stylus can be used with any Nagaoka cartridge body, and it takes all of 5 seconds to make a switch. It's as easy as unplugging and plugging a USB cable. Vinyl enthusiasts mix Nagaoka bodies and styli in all kinds of different ways. I actually know of people who use an MP-500 stylus on an MP-110 body (this seems a little odd to me, but to each their own). My relative loves this, and is tickled pink. It provides more top end, more detail, a more airy sound. This is a very good, underpriced stylus. Now he uses this MP-200 for jazz, vocal, most electronic music. But he swaps back to the MP-110 stylus for thumping rock music, or old beat up albums (where the MP-110 has better low end response and tracks beater records better). Everyone should have both, and switch back and forth as you prefer.

Well worth the money to upgrade
If youโve been hesitating to pull the trigger on this one, donโt. Iโve been enjoying my Nagaoka MP-110 for several years now and wanted a bit of an upgrade without breaking the bank. Well, the JNP-200 stylus on the MP-110 body is a great, fairly cost-effective, upgrade. It wonโt give you all of the performance of the MP-200, but itโs been called the MP-180 upgrade on the audio forums for a reason. I canโt wait for this to be fully broken in. It sounds awesome on my humble little system.

Little Hack - Instant Upgrade to MP-110
I bought a Nagaoka MP-110 phono cart. (yellow) about a year ago to replace an old Grado Reference Platinum, and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I considered, at the time, buying the better cart., the MP-200 (purple), but the almost $400 price stopped me. I needed to find out if I liked the general sound of Nagaoka. I did. Then. after looking at the statistics and design of the cartridge body, ignoring the stylus, it seemed that the 110, 150, and 200, shared the same body and only changed the shape and quality of the needle and cantilever. Well, I saw a great price for the MP-200's replacement stylus (JN-P200), and bought it to try my "hack." Well it worked in spades!. The clarity, precision, sound stage, and drive from just changing the stylus is Night and Day. When I went back to the JN-P110 stylus, everything sounded more compressed, duller, and veiled. It was not just a "brighter" sound - everything got better as I listed above. So, the "hack": MP-110 cart $133, JN-P200 stylus $164 = $297 vs. $395 for an MP-200. Saves almost $100 and creates the same sonic improvement. Try it. You'll like it.

Imagination
I DO think everything sounds better with this thing. It might just be my imagination but whatโs the difference?

Awesome!
I broke the stylus on my nagaoka MP-110 and decided to replace it with this upgraded stylus. It was a HUGE improvement. The combination of the MP-110 body with the MP-200 Stylus was shockingly good for the price paid. I highly highly recommend this combination if you are on a budget.

Will Fit MP110 Cartridge
There seems to be a little confusion about wether or not the mp200 will fit on the mp110 cartridge. It absoulutely will. Took me less than 60 seconds to remove the mp110 stylus and install the mp200 stylus. No forcing it on or modifications required. Initial impression: more distinct highs and better bass definition. Looking forward to hearing even more improvement after break in period. The mp110 has an output of 5mV while the output of the mp200 is 4mV.

Quality stylus replacement unit.
I have had two styli units (they are interchangeable), and loved both. Better separation, tighter bass, and so on through the spectrum. I now have a Lyra Sequel sp2/SME V and Lyra Pulsus phono stage, but have clung to this MP (moving permalloy), which is slightly more agile than an MM. I gave away a three month old Bronze after the (now lamented) most forensic hi fi reviewer on you tube (Hivynws) compared them and raved about the MP200. This was his optimum MM pick, which was more than good enough for me.

Good upgrade without breaking the bank
Ordered this to upgrade my turntable. After several hours of use it seems to be a brighter sound than the MP-100 it replaced. For music that is more intricate I find I'm noticing subtle elements I've not heard before.

The MP-200 is a fantastic stylus.
Fantastic stylus. Plugs into an MP-110 cartridge too, so it's a nice little upgrade. Good price, shipping to the UK only took a few days.
