has anyone used a region 2 DVD in it yet?

Is there a format known as 9 hdd for dvd ? chinese tv drama series use it for high density packing to reduce the # of dvds. this works ?

Have remote issues? have roku smart tv. no issue playing a dvd, but can only control using buttons on the unit. fresh batteries didn't work.

I also have a roku tv and I connected the DVD player with an hdmi cable. I choose that option through roku and then control the DVD player using the dvd remote.
