However, it caused constipation. No bowel movements whatsoever after starting it.Like another reviewer, we tried combining it (50/50) with regular formula (Alimentum) and it resulted in a somewhat denser diarrhea - which was better than pure diarrhea or constipation, but not ideal either.However, because Similac Expert Care for Diarrhea is considered a "fix" (not a regular formula) and is not recommended for children under 6 months, we decided not to continue on the long term.On the positive side, it allowed our LO's horrible diaper rash to heal.Our LO is now on the very expensive Elecare and is doing better.Good luck to anyone out there with babies with allergies and GI problems! ### ⭐⭐⭐ not sure how I feel about it *by M***A on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2014* My twins had a diarrhea for almost 14 days when our Similac for Diarrhea arrived. I feed them with it for a day and a half.The first bottle I gave them straight Diarrhea formula and they drunk it without any problems, one of the girls refused to drink the second bottle so I had to mix it 50% with their regular formula and this went OK. After the first bottle their poop changed and got a bit harder, which was immediately great for poor red bottoms. However, the pooping of this new kinda harder poop continued 7 times per day. So I'm really not sure if I would say that this stopped the problem. After a day and a half both of my kids started burping a lot and having discomfort from the 50% diarrhea and formula mix, so I stopped giving it to them.The frequency of the pooping continued.After the second feeding cycle with regular formula they stopped pooping so much and their poop is still the same consistency as after the first bottle of diarrhea formula.So I think this diarrhea formula is still in their system and our regular formula just helped getting rid of gas discomfort.Keeping the fingers crossed it will work for us as well as for other people writing the reviews here. I just didn't like that my kids ended up in such discomfort that they couldn't sleep normally.Un update 06/21/2014So it took a while and diarrhea lasted all together 3 weeks... a week after this formula the kids were well again. So I am not sure if one would say that this formula helped or not. The fact remain, the formula definitely helped their red bottoms to recover within two days that they were taking it, about the rest I am not sure. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hard to find in stores.
