Is this right?** A: I just put them on and "tapped" the cup without the controls. I get a "boing" sound from my finger's impact and it does have a "spring-ish" sound to it. I think you'll get this sound on any hearing protection. Remember, this is meant to suppress sounds over a certain dB. I tried the chewing ice scenario as well but only got the internal sounds of my ice chewing. I think you should take them out too test at an outdoor range. For use at an indoor range, I'd recommend soft ear plugs as well for double up. Keep in mind, indoor range sounds are amplified.
