CURT 13112 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2-Inch Receiver

Very sturdy and easy to install! Fit perfectly around the 11/4” receiver and looks and functions very well. Didn’t think it would be as easy as the you tube video showed but done in about 1/2 hour.

I have a 2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer that had the 1 1/4" hidden hitch in the bumper. Well, I got tired of using the 2" adapter so I bought this with hopes that it will fit. Well, about 45 minutes later, this bad boy is now installed. Just note that your 1 1/4" will still be there right above this hitch. So if this bothers you then go to the dealer and pay more $$. Me? I don't care, I"m driving and forget that I even have two hitch receivers. Also, this item is SOLID. The finish is good and the welds seem to be done correctly. Mounting took about 45 minutes like I mentioned and 15 minutes of it was figuring out what to do with the plug thing. I figured it out and will post a pic when I get a chance. So, if you're looking at a solid Class III hitch receiver, this is your best bet for a super BANG for your buck.

This hitch fits great, and is very beefy. The online video helped with the install, but I did thread the leader through the frame without the bolt for the upper holes, then attached the bolt and pulled the leader back. The "threaded" end of the leader was easier to maneuver through the frame and pull out than the wire only end with the bolt attached. Have not owned long enough to comment on how long the finish lasts, but looks good now. Kind of wish there was a spot to attach the oem 4 prong wire harness, but zipping it to the old 1 1/4 inch hitches chain mounts works fine. I like the larger bolt plates and the shouldered nuts and bolts better than the separate washers with other manufacturers kits.

Arrived in new condition. Heavy Duty and perfect fit on 2006 Mercury Mountaineer with an existing Class II 1 1/4 hitch. Fit perfectly under it so I can use 1 1/4" hitch or 2" depending on need. Boat uses 1 1/4" with no problem. Wife's Scooter Carrier uses 2" hitch with no problem. EXCELLENT VALUE!

Nice hitch. Easy to install. My son and I had it done in about a half hour. Did have to hammer the driver side rear frame mounting hole to get the hitch to fit. Just took a few good whacks with a hammer to make it fit. Would highly recommend this hitch.

Ordered hitch on Friday and ups delivered it to my house Monday! Perfect fit for my 2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. Had the original 1 1/4" OEM hitch, but didn't trust it towing my pop up camper. This Curt hitch mounted right under it with four bolts and it fits perfectly! Did it myself using two jack stands to hold it in place. I found it easier to install the front mounting bolts on each side first, then carefully raise the hitch without pushing the bolts up into the frame and screw on the nuts. Then fished the rear mounting bolts through the frame and the hitch bracket while held in place with jackstands. All in all, nice looking and well made.

Not a perfect fit, but went on with a little finesse.

Excellent quality and easy to install. Everything lined up perfectly, and the hitch feels very solid. I’ve used it to tow my boat and it performs exactly as expected.
