Basic Umbrella
I find this umbrella pretty small. I have had a larger auto open/close umbrella by Totes before and I would have preferred something like that. This umbrella is lightweight and the metal rod from the base to the umbrella feels a little thin. I have only used the umbrella once and it was a little windy and it held up fine but for strong winds, I wonder. The person who said it opens to a nice size canopy is not really accurate. This umbrella is good if it is raining lightly. If it is raining more heavily and you have to walk around outside for a while, this would be a bad umbrella to have with you. Your lower body would get very wet. If you want something bigger, get the Totes Superdome which is almost the same size. It is the larger size and it is also heavier.

Randomly Broke After 2 Uses, Warranty is a Joke
The bottom handle (clear portion) of the umbrella broke off while I was picking it up (yes, just picking it up, I didn't even drop it or anything), and now I'm left with a difficult-to-carry product. The handle was attached by several 1mm thick plastic nubs that snapped clean off. Very poor design and it's just asking for failure. I looked up the warranty, and it looks like you'll need to pay postage shipping to them, AND you have to pay them $5 for "shipping" back. This turns out to be nearly equal to the price I originally paid for the umbrella. No thanks totes, instead you'll get a bad review and I'm getting another brand umbrella. I've had dollar store umbrellas last longer than this one.

Portable, well-made
Got the black umbrella - it's compact enough to fit in a standard messenger bag and does not feel cheaply-made. The only issues I have with the umbrella, really, are that the handle has a clear glass/hard-plastic pommel which looks a little ostentatious and the fact that it doesn't close automatically. Besides that, it's a good buy!

So Far So Good
Held up very well over the course of an extremely windy and rainy week in Glasgow. I thought for sure this umbrella would break - the wind was really gusty and it seemed like I was always walking straight into it. But, it survived well and I'm still using it.I would buy it again - I think I paid around $10. For under $15 or so I'd say this is a 5-star umbrella in terms of size, quality and having around for an emergency.

So cute!
I bought this umbrella in red, and I love it! Folded up it's small, but not too small, and when opened, it's a very good size. It can cover me completely (backpack on and all) and still allow space for another average-sized person. I love that it's automatic, but closing it can sometimes be a little bit difficult. Other than that, I definitely recommend this purchase.

warning - no auto close
Amazon won't send you a free return so just know that this has no auto close. If you're caught in the rain and trying to get into your car, you will get soaked. We have this type of umbrella and thought we were purchasing an auto open/close fro Amazon. It is not - just auto open

Great product, not the color expected
The shade of purple doesn't match the picture, it's more of a pinkish purple. Still a great product and works well.

broken when it arrives.
It is broken when it arrives. The umbrallel has very bad quality. Spend the time and money for something useless. It is the worst experience for the on-line shopping.
