My guess is that I'm getting better gas mileage and performance, but I haven't done a hard study of it. But after I purchased it and installed it I never noticed any improvement. Maybe a little on the psychological side knowing that the engine will breath better. Then later I did some research and learned that I would just have been fine using the traditional paper filter. and also another con to the K&N filter is when you clean it be careful not to over oil it. As its very easy to do and this will allow oil to collect on your Air Mass Meter and cause your engine to run rough. Not that this is a big deal you just have to clean it as well. but I don't want to have to keep dicking with my truck. Would I buy this again for another car? No. not that is a bad product but I don't see the benefit in it.( maybe the benefit is im not buying anymore air filters) so Ill save the money next time..
