Simple and clean
After running two long ethernet cables from my brother's across my house to the living room to connect to my Playstation 3, I was able establish a hardwired connection and finally download and play without a problem. Except, the wire was not long enough to run in tandem with my wall to the PS3, rather i had to take the shortest route, like the hypotenuse of a triangle, to get my connection working. Second, I recently purchased a PS4, and WiiU, so in order to play online for any of those systems I would have to unplug, move the systems around and reestablish a connection to the ugly wired sore thumb in my living room. This switch effectively killed multiple birds with one black stone. After arriving at my doorstep, I simply opened the box, plugged the ethernet cable from my brother's room in, plugged 2 or so shorter ethernet cables in and connected those ethernet cables to the second and third consoles. The extra slack allowed me to secure the connection to the edge of the wall, reducing clutter and giving me a sense of relief, as well as providing a stable internet connection to my PS3, PS4, and WiiU (which did need a separate adapter). The sleek black finish meshed perfectly with my generally monochrome, but mostly all black everything aesthetic, and allowed the box and cables to melt into the background. It's perfect at what it does and does what it does with easy and grace.

Great item
Pretty basic, it works, it is small and lightweight. Half the price of Netgear, I have not compaired side by side, but why bother. It works, it does what it is supposed to and I really like the fact that the power and ethernets all plug into the back and the lights are on the front. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Great improvement
I connected this to my modem so I could hard wire all my devices to it rather than use the wireless for the TV, games, etc. My TV streaming was often pixelated and I almost blamed my cable company. I probably need a new wireless router, but in the meantime, this device worked like a charm. I'm so glad I did this. This is simple to set up and works right out of the box.

It's a switch...
A nice little switch for a great price. I bought a refurb. unit for under 6 bucks. It does exactly what it's supposed to. Run one cable to the entertainment center to the switch, and BAM! four instant ports for the TV, BD player, etc. And no problems streaming.

Works fine, right price

Simple solution.
Fit my needs very well. I advise people to get a switch that includes Wi-Fi. However, in this case I didn't need Wi-Fi. I have a wireless router provided by AT&T that includes four (4) Ethernet ports. Two (2) used for cable TV. I also have PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I simply plugged this device into AT&T's router and expanded to provide for the gaming systems. Since they are never on at the same time this is a perfect solution for me. No setup required, just plug and play. It sits behind one of the gaming systems completely out of sight.

Just quits all the time
This switch is the worst product I have ever purchased from D-link. It worked for a while, then stopped. It would work intermittently, and then quit again. Multiple support calls with D-link's generally great tech supportD-Link DES-1005E 5-Port 10/100 Desktop Switch. Incredibly frustrating. This is the second time I've had the same problem with identical switches in two different locations. I'm a networking veteran, and I'm going to try an upgrade to a Netgear gigabit switch and see if that helps.Uggggh, the hours I've wasted.

D-Link 5-Port 10/100 Unmanaged Desktop Switch
I was running out of ethernet ports from my router, so after reading the reviews on Amazon.com, I purchased this switch. There are 5 ports, but, of course, one is used to connect to the router, which leaves 4 ports for the other devices. It was easy to set up, and works great. It is small and quite light, but this hasn't been a problem.

Nice device
Excellent value for money. Easy to install. Works as expected.

Pequeño y práctico.
El único inconveniente es que por ser muy pequeño los cables no dejan acomodarlo. No cuenta con ranuras para tornillos para fijarlo en un mueble o pared. Por todo lo demás cumple su función.

As Advertised!
I needed to leverage one ethernet source cable from my router for 3 different items in my entertainment centre downstairs and this switch did the trick nicely. I don't typically use more than one source at a time so this works well (ethernet into TV, apple TV and Slingbox). It is a very small and light unit, so the plus is that it is easy to hide in your entertainment unit behind your other electronics. The downside is that it is so light that the cables will move it around on you but not a big deal.

Nice cheap switch
Dlink I've found over the years makes some really nice cheap switches that just work. Everything was plug and play and works great for my purposes. This is a Fast Ethernet switch which means its 100mbps but still works for a lot of devices, if you were connecting two computers with the intention of transferring files between them I would go with at least a 1gbps switch.
