Perfect for replacing an 2.5'' IDE drive with a fast mSATA replacement makes old machines usable
Functionality is great. Good design as a replica case to replace a 2.5 inch IDE SATA or PATA HDD drive with an mSATA ssd drive. The screws are all there and I've found these to be compatible with my old HP machines as well as my old powerbook Apple laptops. Given how cheap mSata drives have become these adapter cases are great value for money and the speed they operate at bring new life to the slow old machines.

Works like a charm
Previously returned one of these from a different brand which didn’t work at all (wouldnt allow me to format), but this one works perfectly with a 256gb Samsung drive.

Good Value worked well in my old mini-pc
I purchased the Docooler mSATA to 2.5" 44PIN IDE SSD Converter to upgrade an older mini-pc with an SSD, hoping this adapter would bridge the gap between modern storage and legacy hardware. Overall, it worked, but not without some hiccups. The good news is that the adapter does function as advertised, allowing an mSATA SSD to connect to a 44-pin IDE interface. The form factor is compact, and it fits comfortably into a standard 2.5" drive bay. Installation is straightforward, though it helps to have some experience with hardware setups since the instructions are sparse. However, there are a few downsides worth noting. The build quality feels somewhat flimsy, especially around the connectors, so it requires careful handling to avoid damaging the pins. Additionally, the data transfer speeds are slower than I expected. While I knew IDE has limitations, I was hoping for a bit more consistency, but I occasionally experienced lag, which might be due to compatibility issues with certain mSATA drives. In short, this adapter works well enough for reviving old hardware with an SSD, but it has limitations in terms of durability and speed. It’s a budget-friendly option, but those seeking top-notch performance and reliability might want to look at other alternatives.

Fits Perfectly in an IDE Laptop
The mSATA SSD fitted perfectly and once my original hard disk had been cloned and the SSD inserted in my laptop, the laptop worked like a dream. My only concern is that the case is thicker than the original HDD and this caused problems fitting it into by USB cradle (for cloning). I burnt out one Adaptor Box doing that but the mSATA SDD survived,

Case is oversized and doesn’t fit properly in my laptop
Works perfectly fine, but I had to install it without the plastic case as it’s oversized.

Good upgrade
I'm copying this review to the Kingston memory and the Docooler caddy review as I am using the two items together.I have a 16 year-old Lenovo T42 laptop which needed a hard disk upgrade as the disk was too small. The Kingston SSD fitted into this case well and I imaged the existing hard drive onto the SSD and increased the partition size at the same time. Then I replaced the original drive, and as expected, the SSD drive in the caddy booted up perfectly. I didn't see much of a speed increase (tested using the performance option in Win 7 Pro), but of course the drive is silent and should last. The upgrade took much longer than I expected, because the T42, being old, was rather slow, but I am very pleased with the outcome, hence 5* for both items.

Volle Kaufempfehlung!
