I love the beef flavor and my dog tolerates it pretty good, really well, in fact. The peroxide gel stays on their teeth and has been breaking down my dogs tartar, giving us breath relief. The finger scrubber isnt very finger fitting friendly/adjustable and the brush is best for application, but may be for someone else. I do another finger scrubby that is finger adjustable and less abrasive that works great with this toothpaste. The smell lingers but it's way more attractive than what was, lol.

My dog does not seem to like the beef flavor, and it does not smell good. I will say, however, the toothbrush is a good size with dual options and the toothpaste did keep my dog’s breath from smelling bad the entire day. I would try a different flavor maybe and that might work perfect.

This Arm & Hammer Tartar Control Kit actually works because my dog’s teeth look noticeably cleaner and his breath is way less “something-died-in-there” but convincing him to sit still for brushing? That’s a different battle entirely. You’d think I was brandishing a medieval torture device instead of a minty toothbrush. The toothpaste itself seems to do its job beautifully. It’s gentle, foams just enough, and leaves his mouth smelling fresher than I ever thought possible for a dog who snacks on questionable things in the yard. The brush is sturdy and easy to handle, even when your “assistant” is squirming like a toddler at the dentist. So yes, five stars for effectiveness, packaging, and results. Zero stars for my dog’s cooperation (but that’s not Arm & Hammer’s fault). I've been a bit skeptical about this product for a year or two now, finally decided to give it ago. As a note, the directions say to SLOWLY get your dog used to it. Let them lick it off your finger, then put it on their teeth before moving to the tooth brush usage, I do wish they would be a bit more specific about it, because it seems like maybe for a week you'd want to use your finger on their teeth then move to the tooth brush because it's not something you wanna rush into. Must have patience with your dogs! Both of my dogs enjoy the taste of the Beef, but if I were to describe the smell I'd say it has the smell of the cheapest wet dog food you could buy. (One dog makes this awful face but she still eats it, so I believe the texture bothers her a lot since she seems to be okay with the flavor - that's something to consider if your dog doesn't like it! It could be a texture thing!) The smell is better than if they have horrid "dragon breath" if you will, but it's not particularly pleasant either. The only thing I have a huge complaint about, is the tooth brushes for the dogs. They are much too firm & large for small dogs. They might be okay for larger dogs, but we have 2 Chihuahua/Terrier mixes and I find that both sides are just too large and the bristles are much too firm for them. We will be buying small extra soft bristle brushes for them, and it's something I also recommend considering if you have small dogs. The finger brush included is also meant for medium/large size dogs as well...This just isn't a very friendly small dog set, but I'm happy to have the toothpaste for the pups.

My 10 week old puppy loves the taste! I got the vanilla ginger and the small brush. As soon as he sees me open the paste it’s as if I was giving him a treat. Very impressive really. I’ve always had dogs and not one had been so responsive to brushing!! I usually bought chicken or p butter flavoured paste which no one liked. My vet tech suggested vanilla mint or ginger and it’s certainly worked. Kit was very reasonable and with a very small sample tube Now that I know he likes it I’ll continue brushing twice a day with arm and hammer vanilla ginger. 5 stars
