No low speed
I have purchased & used Hamilton Beach appliances in the past, and they worked very well, but this item is not the same. The problem is with the speeds. There is no low speed: it's fast & faster & faster... There are definitely times in baking that a slow speed is needed & this mixer can't do the job. I know it's an inexpensive option, but a company this old & well known should have its mixers' speed control down pat. I liked the mixer in other ways: easy to insert & eject beaters, nice that it can stand with the flat surface on the back, weight is fine, fast speeds are okay, but lack of slow speed is a deal breaker.
