The reason this is important is because alcohol can damage the rubber suspension on the stylus. It also says it has perfume in it (who knows why) and it's unclear what that contains and what it might do to the stylus or cartridge components.I'll admit I still use the cleaner, but I'm VERY careful not to get any on the styles suspension and also that none of the stuff drips into the cartridge. I do this by holding the cartridge with the stylus facing downward and the brush with the cleaner on it facing upward, and then gently moving the stylus on the brush. Also be careful that the cleaner can pool in a liquid drop on the surface of the bush. If you have too big of a drop on there, the stylus could siphon the liquid up towards the suspension, so I make sure there is only a tiny bit of cleaner liquid, and that it is mushed into the brush a bit and not sitting in a drop on the surface.So, it does clean the stylus tip, but be careful! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use *by D***G on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2019* Even with cleaning my records, airborne dust and moisture can add crud to my needle. This product makes quick clean-ups easy. It doesn't seem to put undue pressure on the needle suspension system. Does a good job cleaning the stylus and most importantly doesn't damage the stylus.
