After many hours of research and going back and forth, I settled on this one and I am glad I did! I am on the paleo diet and this sort of machine is absolutely central to have. I love the blade, the flippable insert for slicing or shredding that came with it. It is very powerful and very easy to clean. If you have something really tall/long the security button prevents you from feeding it into the machine, you have to chop it down. But as I mostly wanted it for mixing bread/dough and not chopping it's not a big concern for me. It does have a bit of a gap under the bottom of the bottom blade, so some flour doesn't make it into the dough, but it's such a small amount that I don't care that much. The suction cups on the bottom hold it nice & firm to the table, but you don't have to fight to get it loose either. And the size is perfect for my needs. It's a sturdy little machine that doesn't feel like it'll break at the least little pull. I've tried everything I can think of and it won't release.** A: I own the very same equipment. The blade just pulls directly up, off of the spindle. You will feel it "click" in and out of place. Perhaps the bowl needs to be disengaged from the base in order to release the blade. **Q: Does it do a good job for chopping meat ?** A: Does great on cooked meats, have not tried it on raw meat. **Q: if the food pusher is needed to activate the blades how does one add extra ingredients while machine is running?** A: The pusher is in two parts. When the base is inserted the blades run. There is a smaller, internal pusher you use for feeding the food. **Q: Is this processor good for making nut butters? I know that you have to let them run for about 15 minutes, will it overheat?** A: I've never made nut butters with this. I have made bread dough, and it didn't overheat (though I didn't run it for 15 minutes!).
