Extremely firm but works to roll out my back.

First off, I have to say that this roller is great. While I didn't actually use it, I examined it closely, and it doesn't look like it would go flat on anybody under normal use. It's also nice looking. I ordered the short one because I thought it would work best for me, but I'd say, measure your spine length before using it if you intend to use it for spinal stretches. If there's any doubt, just get the long one.

I roll my back on this every morning and it feels great. The roll is perfect in terms of hardness (not too hard, not too soft), size and durability. I am glad I purchased this.

I read the reviews and most people seemed to think the hardness is perfect. It is like hard rubber to me. Perhaps it is age, I am 70 and my muscle tone is not great and it really hurts. My trainer says it hurts because the area I use it for is damaged. Could be, but I'm not using the item because of the extreme discomfort. I would caution non athletes.

This is actually a good size foam roller and not too slippery on my wood floors. The only problem is that it was described as being medium firm. This is a brick. It's really hard so it takes some getting used to, and might not provide the relief you were hoping for if you are sensitive or in real pain.

I used to use a 36" roller at the gym with similar density to this one, but with Covid-19 I have to do my IT band massages at home. This one is 18" long which is good for travel and I have not rolled off of it yet! I initially got one made of a firmer material (EPP) and it was too hard - it was like rolling on a concrete log. This one (EVA) is good for massaging a tight IT band.

Great beginner roller! I had been using a textured roller previously which was just torture for me. Found this one on amazon and was night and day. I am able to to use a roller without being in complete agony. The purple marble is also very cute!

Medium firm. Just what I needed. The firmer models were made of styrofoam material. This one is made of a dense type of foam but NOT styrofoam which creates a medium firmness. The 18' inch length is just enough span to provide coverage to both left and right shoulders. I'm 5'5" and 165 lbs.
