Such a well balanced, well crafted piece. I admire the detail and smell of real leather that is already breaking in nicely. It is such a beautiful thing to treat yourself to. For the money you spend, you are getting something that will last a long time and give so much more in joy. Sharp, weighted well & by far one of my favorite thing I've opened from the post. Set yourself aside time with this daily and you'll realize it's value is deeper than money. Thank you for shipping it so fast, packed so well...I am so happy with mine.

Comes in a box. In the box is a round box open it up and see the clothed wraped sword. unwrap sword and see a nice sheath take that off and see the beauty of this sword. Very nice work. Don't be fooled though by her beauty. She is sharp. Would by over and over again. no regrets.

Sword seems nice, but the tsuba wrap was sloppy, and the sageo wrap was untied and hanging. This is a gift, so I'm going to try and fix it myself

I recently watched the KB duo again and re-caught the bug. When if first came out there were lots of "Official License" KB swords about. Most were 440ss and cheaply made which is why I never bought one. I started looking for KB swords and found this one ( Handmade Swords 657) here. I researched around and found many different discerptions of it, even the reviews here had different information:( I posted a question and received confused information. What follows is my honest, semi-informed review... The blade is carbon steel, it has a hamon line and a Demon chop. The one I received is straight without any twist. The sword has been sharpened but not polished. The Same looks and feels like Ray skin. The black Ito on the Tsuka feels like leather. The Tsuba & Saya look like the ones in the photos. All in all, I'm extremely please with this Sword and the people that made it:) We'll do business again. Cheers!!

I am very impressed with the quality of this katana. It has great packaging super secure. It comes razor sharp (passed the paper test)It also comes with a black carrying case. It has a nice weight and feel, the tsuka or handle has a great grip. The Tsuba or hand guard looks just like the one in Kill Bill Vol.2. The devil engraving is nice and looks great. Nice hamon. The saya or sheath has a nice engravment the wrapping is like the movie. Be sure to keep blade oiled you can use mineral oil. Although we don't see much detail or really much at all of Bills katana it looks like a hanzo sword. Definitely worth the quality and money.

I have been in the katana business for a while, even though there were minor flaws on my brand new sword, no blood grove as stated, engraved are not "gold " color with gold lace. Hattori hanzo lion has some black in it. everything else was so perfect, full tang, tsuba was clean , saya was perfect. I just kept the sword, i literally just finished returning 4 swords from other buyers whos replica is no where near as beautiful as this, ill take the hit for this craftsmanship.

Very well worth buying either display or use for filleting fish, steaks, zombies have at it. Came very sharp no need for sharpening. Ready to use. HMS makes beautiful blades!!!

Everything was contained safely and properly, no loose parts nor defects. Beautiful, only missing the gold inlay on the edges of the Scabbard. Update: after having used this sword and my other katana (both made by handmade sword) on water jugs for about a month, I noticed some movement coming from inside the tsuka (handle) its very minimal and the rest of the sword is fine. Update, I disassembled my katana and if you'll see the picture above, it is indeed a true full tang. After disassembly, the tang no longer rattles, not that it was much of an issue to begin with.

Upon me receiving the Katana and opening the tube with tears of joy in my eyes, I did see a few minor scratches and marks on the very edge of the blade that looks like it was maybe used a couple of times to test it's cutting ability. But I won't be taking any more then 1 star away for this as I would probably also want a blade tested a little to make sure of it's durability before it going off to its new owner. There is no real damage just scratches but It just would've been nice if they buffed out the marks before sending. However with a small amount of use on my Japanese whetstone and strop it has came out almost like brand new. This Katana is overall an amazing item and I was very happy to receive it quickly.

Very nice blade, Hamon is prominent and it’s taken everything I’ve cut with it extremely well with good edge retention. Tsuba and habaki are very sturdy. Menuki stick out a bit so fit could’ve been better but a light sanding took care of that. The saya is beautiful overall but the carvings could be a bit more accurate but are a 9/10. The wrap is a cheap synthetic leather but is done very well. Overall 9.8/10 for the money this sword exceeds expectations by far.

Came very well packaged/protected. Seems very well made with quality materials and pretty solid. Only down side is the blade arrived pretty scratched and scuffed up, but for the price I cant really complain too much
