Works well and simple to install

The product is very good, but it will not fit mags with recessed bolts. It does not fit in mine so I had to look for another product. This peculiarity should be clearer.

Sturdy enough to be a strong deterrent. The lug bolts on my spare tire carrier were just a touch too long to allow the rubber cover to stay in place but this is easily corrected with a quick grind of the bolt. Now fits perfectly and is somewhat protected from the elements. Worth it for a little peace of mind.

Product advertisement is correct and fits any side mount spare tire. I was concerned about my side mount especially because the studs were extra long. The lock has a rubber plug that can be removed to accommodate any extra length of the stud.

Sturdy and arrived quickly

Bought a new wheel and tire for a rear hitch mount spare for an upcoming trip and needed a lock to prevent theft of expensive wheel/tire. The bolts that came with the hitch mount were too small for the old locking lugs I had. Bought this based on design. My new wheel, like most these days, are slightly concave so the lug holes are not at 90 degrees to the wheel. This lock is flat and needs a flat surface for it to line up correctly. I tried many ways to get it usable, including using a longer bolt and many washers to get a possible seating position for the back of the lock but to no avail. Also, at least with my wheel, the center cap is relatively close to the sloping lug holes, so the lock base could not center properly, and it was impossible to fit a socket to tighten. (Photo shows what kind of wheel I’m describing). The instructions seem to show the wheel mounted backwards (rear of wheel facing out) which is flat, but there is no way anyone would want to carry a spare that way. If you have a wheel with a flatter lug surface and room for a socket to tighten the base, then this design should work.

Bought for the spare tire on our RV. Installation was simple and appreciate the security and peace of mind of having the spare tire locked. It is too bad we have to lock everything but this is the world we live in.
