That does make it a little tougher to get in and out of your pocket. But it is strong, mine lasted for several years and stood up to lots of abuse. it protected my phone from all the drops, except the one face down onto gravel. That was my fault, not the case's. I bought a this replacement on Amazon, after I wore out my original one from the Verizon store after a couple years, and have been very happy with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Second Case of this style/brand *by S***9 on July 29, 2020* Had this same model case for my S8 and it protected my phone through several drops from around 3 ft a few from a more. I am pretty rough on phones and was glad to have a simple case that was easy to grip but still easy to put in my pocket and light weight. Replaced the case after 2 years with another one same model. Two of the corner guards and some of grip ridges had come off but like I said I give a case a workout. This is the longest I have had a case work out for me so when I did get a new phone (I was able to trade in my old one with no damage) I got the same case.
