I'm a fan!
I've had this item almost 3 years and it still runs great. I live out in the country so the filter gets dusty, but this machine runs great! Easy to use, easy to hook a hose up to and add water. Great airflow and really helps in the humid Texas heat.

Works great in low humidity.
Exceeded my expectations after 2 months of use. Light when not filled. Very cheap to operate. It is very cold in low humidity. Works in climates with low humidity. I use mine with an ac once it gets around 105 and the humidity goes up. The ac removes water from the air, cools the room down, then I turn the ac off and let the evaporative cooler maintain the temp for a while, repeat. Any time this is running and not the ac you are saving money. And it goes through a gallon of water in an hour and less time than that in very low humidity, so it treats the dry air too. It moves air well on high, low works fine, and I don't consider it noisy. I put it by an open window or door until it gets too hot, so that it pulls dry air. It can cool air by 20...30 degrees....so if it's 115 degrees out and you are sitting in an oven, and it's humid, it may not be for you.....I hope that helps with those of you who are not familiar with evaporative coolers.

Doesn’t work in humid areas
I can’t really complain as I should have understood that an evaporator wouldn’t work well in high humidity. It does have a great fan that moves a lot of air that does help to make bedroom comfortable for some cooler nights sleeping but don’t expect it to really cool much in the Midwest. I do use it daily as it does help to keep home more tolerable during hot summer days without having my electric bill being out of control

Oh yeah, it works.
Ordered this to use in our bedroom in the summer as our room was an add on so it got a little warmer than we wanted. Set this thing up, pointed it at the bed and it works great. Filled it up once a day going to bed and it lasted all night(8 hours) with the tank full. Things to know. it is throwing a lot of moisture in the air, so we noticed the blanket where it was hitting more or less damp. Not enough to leave water on your hand when touching it but just wanted to let you know. In later months when it was hot in the day and got cooler in the night, you will notice the air is heavy. Like when you go out and there is a heavy fog outside. But never had issues with mildew or moisture in walls. The size of the room will depend on that. We also used it to help the main unit in the living room when it was above 100 in the heat of the day. Fan is a little louder than a standard standup fan and you can hear the water running. But after a bit, it was actually making us go to sleep faster with the water running. Had to get used to it being gone when it got cold.

Good swamp cooler except for the water noise
This is a good cooler -- it worked in cooling off our bedroom, however, the only complaint I have is the noise. Every 20 mins or so it makes a loud gurgling noise from the water. If we used this cooler in the garage, outside or somewhere other than our bedroom, it wouldn't have matter much, but it woke me up every time it started making that intermittent noise, which was really annoying. We purchased this for our bedroom so that we wouldn't have to use our whole house air conditioning and the expense. Just cooling off our bedroom would be perfect. Unfortunately, the noise aspect didn't work for us. But the Seller was great and worked with us on returning it, which I really appreciated.

What a steal of a deal for this swamp cooler
I was a bit hesitant in seeing some of the reviews but I determined that some of the reviewer’s must not be very familiar with how swamp coolers work. This is a great cheap evaporative cooler! as with any swamp cooler you must prime it first which means you must set the pump action on for a couple minutes to saturate the filter with water before turning the dial to the fan with water drop symbol. I read several reviews on here which stated that the knob indicators are backwards- that’s incorrect the knob is fully functional in the manner in which it is supposed to be used- prime function pump is a water drop symbol, then there’s two fan only settings ( High and low) and two fan with pump settings (low and High) then the off switch. I Love that the water indicator is in the front of the unit to show how much water is in the cooler as swamp coolers only work if there is water. This machine has a Nice 5 gallon tank and it does suck up a lot of water (about 4 gallons in 4 hours) on the High setting ( that’s normal) The noise level is the same as any other crap cooler we’ve used before, I actually like the soothing waterfall sound it makes. The ONLY con so far is that the door to fill the machine with water is a cheap little plastic door with a not so great flimsy plastic tab handle to open/close That will probably break but It’s been over 100° here in the southwest this week and without A/C this unit has kept our Adobe house ( which traps heat) a comfy 75. As with any portable swamp cooler, you should have it in front of an open window/ door for inside use along with a cracked window to avoid humid mugginess. We Look forward to using this evap cooler during the hot heatwave we are expecting, we might even purchase another for outside use now. Shipment came in a day early too! Great value for the money and if you live in dry heat I definitely recommend

Okay for the money. Update: 11/16/20
This feels more like a powerful fan than anything. Being in California, I plan to get a Portable Air Conditioner eventually, but for the price of $100, this will do. Pros: I put a few drops of essential oil, and it makes the room smell nice. -It is light and mobile with the included wheels Cons: In the instructions manual, things are not as clear like how much water to fill if anything and the compartment to pull out to fill water in was kind of hard for me to pull out at first as there's no handle. I had to take a knife pry it out and then afterwards, it became easy. The cooler is made out of plastic. If you overfill it with water, water will start pouring out from the back of the cooler. Update: After 3 weeks of usage, the cooler still works, however I did not realize until I looked at the sides, and also decided to open to back inside. The plastic is still cheap that it's became cracking again on its own. I wished I would've saved money to invest in a better cooler instead.

Great swamp cooler! (With terms and conditions lol)
So I'd start out by saying you're going to need to check a map to see if you live in a dry enough area to use this. Does not work in humid environments, not a chance. Secondly you need to draw in dry air from outside, humidify it with cold water, and have a place for it to escape (google search evaporative coolers beforehand). If you use this in a closed environment it will not work and make your room no cooler and incredibly, yes incredibly, humid instead. Where this really shines is in a dry place like Colorado with dry air and lower evening temperatures. Many temperature sensitive areas have been seeing much higher temperatures from climate change than builders (decades ago) anticipated, resulting in heaters but no AC units, and record breaking highs each year. That's where this gem comes in. If you really want it cold you can put a ton of ice in with the water. It's as loud as a regular box fan, which I personally don't have a problem with. And if you don't have AC in your house or apartment, it might turn out to be your new favorite fan. Once we move into a new house, this beauty is going on the back deck for hot summer days, but for now it's used every evening to bring our temps down to a comfortable level on the main floor. If you need more you can look at portable AC units (Black and Decker makes a good one BTW) but they use a lot of electricity and require a window or door for a heat exchange duct and adapter. We have those upstairs (where we can install them easily). Good luck to you! For what it is, where it's operating (again check a map), it's a great swamp cooler! Highly recommend!
