Thule 710500 Roof Racks, Evo Clamp Erow

Are you considering the 710501? Don’t: this is the way. The 710500 is the same thing but it is the UK number. What’s the difference? Well this one is less expensive AND it comes with FOUR LOCKS. Yup, the same four locks that cost $$ here in the US. This comes to you via a few carriers (for me it was Asendia to UPS to USPS) and takes about 8-10 days to get to you, but it’s totally worth it for the savings and included locks!

I originally purchased these to be used for a cross-country road trip with my wife's commuter car (Nissan Versa Note, for which I wasn't able to get a Yakima or Rhino Rack fit kit that was compatible with my other rack systems) where we didn't require the SUV or van but wanted the option of carrying a rooftop box for extra luggage we offered to take for a friend who was getting married. The seller shipped the set quickly and I did not have any trouble installing with the respective Thule fit kit (145168), and some older Aeroblade Roof Rack Bars. We used a Yakima Skybox 16 for the trip and even when fully-loaded the racks remained firmly in place throughout the ~4k mi trip.

I haven't installed the rack yet, but I wanted to let potential purchasers know that Amazon sent the set via DHL express from Italy, and they arrived in five days from the order. These were $120. less than the U.S. version, and include the core locks, which are not included in the U.S. version (additonal $70.) Also, for the reviewers who complain that it doesn't include the rails, they should research Thule website to find out that they need three parts that are sold separately, the fit kit, the feet, and the two rails. Altogether expensive, but there are not that many decent alternatives.

Buy this over the US version 710501. Thule is not stupid they are not different in anyway, that would cost too much money to re engineer the product. One is just for the US market, more expensive for some reason. This one is for the EU or European market. This comes with the 4 locks for each Foot Pack. (See images)This is an optional extra for the US market costing $50 most places. If you are looking to buy the Evo Clamp Foot Pack buy this one. Don’t spend more money than you need to on the best roof rack on the market. Only negative, it took about 10 day before it shipped, but just plan ahead and save over $100. Trust me, its well worth it.

Haven't installed yet because I'm waiting for the fitment kit 5243 from the same source, but I think you can't go wrong with a Thule rack product. I just perplexed as to why the fitment kit wasn't shipped with the Evo Clamps ordered simultaneously. Explanation?

Not as advertised. Understand the reality and more research should have been done on my part, but the pictures, description, and all the details about this product indicated a purchase that was in no way reflective of what the consumer receives. Very misleading to say the least.
