Finally Found a Crabgrass Killer That Actually Works!
I’ve tried a bunch of crabgrass killers over the years, but Drive XLR8 is by far the best. Living in Utah with a Kentucky bluegrass lawn, I was nervous about finding something that would kill the crabgrass without wrecking the good grass. This stuff nailed it. What really blew me away was how targeted it was. It went straight after the crabgrass and wiped it out, while my Kentucky bluegrass stayed perfect. I started seeing results in just a few days—the crabgrass that had been creeping across my lawn just shriveled up. Other products I’ve used either didn’t work or were way too harsh on the surrounding grass. Drive XLR8 hit that sweet spot. It’s selective, it works, and there’s no guessing involved. If crabgrass is taking over your lawn, especially if you’ve got mixed grass like mine, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s the only one that actually does what it promises.

Effective crabgrass control that actually works
This crabgrass killer worked really well for me. After applying it as directed, I noticed a clear improvement and saw the crabgrass start to die off without harming the rest of my lawn. It’s easy to apply, effective, and did exactly what I needed it to do. Great option if you’re dealing with stubborn crabgrass and want something reliable. I’d definitely use this again.

This stuff kills Crabgrass, period.
My Neighbor stated that his friend who is a Botanist told him it was no use fighting the weed that was in our yard. Claimed it wasn't crab grass but some other weed that is impossible to kill with-out wiping out the lawn. Boy did I prove him wrong. A little research and I found this stuff, it does exactly what it says. I used it to kill the Crabgrass that had taken over the lawn of the house I just moved into. Nothing else worked. This does. One treatment and the Crabgrass is gone. Regular grass may suffer a little but it recovers. I use 2 oz. of Drive XLR8 with 1.5 oz. of Turf Mark Blue (I tend to spray a little much) and 1oz of Southern Ag Methylated Seed Oil (MSO) Surfactant per gallon of water, and it is a one shot kill when it come to crab grass. After two days you can tell that the Crabgrass is turning yellow. after a week, it is dead. Mine has not come back yet. I started with a small side yard to make sure it doesn't wipe out the grass, and it did not. Due to the amount of Crab grass it's hard to see if did lose some grass, but in the end, I have a healthy crab grass free lawn. It probably helped that put down lawn fertilizer a few days earlier. To those that claim it does not kill crab grass, either your using it wrong, or your not fighting crabgrass but rather some sort of other weed.

Works great on crabgrass
My neighbors don’t do anything to prevent crabgrass in their yard so I’m always fighting to control it in my yard. The overspray helped kill the crabgrass on the edge of their yard and therefore controlled it from coming into my yard. Yay! It’s such an invasive weed.

Effective crabgrass killer that makes lawn care easier
This BASF Drive XLR8 concentrate worked well on crabgrass and other weeds when used as directed. I mixed it according to the instructions and applied it one morning before rain, and within a week I could see new crabgrass failing to pop up while other weeds had shriveled noticeably. It spreads easily through a handheld sprayer and blends in well with water so it doesn’t clog sprayers or leave streaks. One small drawback is that the smell is a bit strong during application so I recommend wearing a mask or staying upwind while spraying. Otherwise it handles well and rinses off equipment easily. I also liked that it offers up to thirty days of residual control meaning fewer repeat applications over the season. Overall this herbicide gets the job done without fuss and gives a noticeable improvement in lawn health. Four stars because of the odor but otherwise solid performance.

Murders crabgrass...updated
Murders crabgrass and other weeds, didn't hurt my Empire Zoysia in NC in the coastal areas. Didn't have the MSO yet and didn't want to wait on it, used 1.5oz of dawn dish soap mixed with 3.5oz of this in a gallon handheld pump sprayer. I got MSO now and sprayed tonight and we shall see the difference. I will ad a review for that. It took about two days before I notice browning of the weeds but it was quick after that and completely tied to dosage. Higher dose spot sprays started dying in 2 days, wiped out in 7, areas where I was light on the dosing (neighbors yard) took about a week to start dying. I had zero browning of my lawn, or the sand grass that naturally grows around here. Love it. Update #1 I switch MSO for the dish detergent, couldn't tell much of a difference, murdered weeds before and was nice to the grass, still does. It might have started killing the crab grass a 24 hours earlier , maybe.

NEVER AGAIN! You've been warned
DID NOT WORK! After reading all of the positive reviews on this product I was sold on itt thanking it would pay for itself in the long run instead of buying the other products at the local Farm store. I measured the square footage of my yard exactly and mixed the product as instructed according to the square footage I was spraying. There was no noticable change in the crabgrass in the first 3 days. I searched online and read where it could take up to 3 weeks to show results. Well it's been 6 weeks and there is absolutely no evidence that Drive XLR8 worked at all. I've owned a landscape business in the past and I have used products that actually worked that I had bought from Rural King at a fraction of the cost. I am not an ignorant home owner that has never used chemicals before. I've worked in 2 different chemical manufacturing plants and own 20 acres that I apply gallons of weed killer to every year so I know a great deal about lawn care. I know for a fact that I applied this product exactly as the directions instructed using bean oil as a surfactant and measured the yard accurately. I also sprayed in ideal weather conditions as it was not too dry or too wet. I've found in a lot of other products that they weren't effective if it was too dry out as the target weeds are sort of dormant when it's dry out. This was a very expensive product that simply did not work at all for me. I read all of the reviews and felt very confident that this product would work good and would be worth the high price that it cost. I will never make that mistake again this product is way overpriced for not showing any results at all. Maybe I simply got a bad or old batch but be very cautious of paying a lot of money for something that will not work.
