Way better reception!
I'm about 50 miles from the transmitter, and I could get an ok signal, but my radio sounded like it was getting interferance. I plugged in the cable, and even before I mounted it to the window, the audio was way better and I could understand all the words clearly. Highly reconmend. Now I will have to get one for my pole barn weather radio!

A step up from stock. See review for details.
In depth review. This antenna will be an upgrade from your stock telescopic antenna that came with your radio. First you must understand that you are not receiving a commercial broadcast from a 100,000 or even a 50,000 watt transmitter. NOAA weather transmitters transmit at 1000 watts on an FM frequency vertical polarization antenna. They broadcast around 40 miles. Trees and objects will affect how good of a signal you can receive. This includes the house you live in. This antenna is a bade loaded antenna and will only work with a single pane window. Even the routing of the cable can make a difference. If you have the ability to use an outdoor antenna that is going to be the best way to go. As I said. This is a step up from what your radio came with. There is no one size fits all antenna when it comes to a weather radios. You must remember that you are working with technology that started back in the days of having to change the channel on the TV yourself and move the antenna around to see the picture through the snow. That was only 40 years ago. Fit the best reception you will need to build an outdoor antenna and run cable to it. It’s not that hard. It can be as simple as vertical dipole antenna.

Made it worse. From 4 bars with static into 2 bars no reception
I have the Midland WR400, it has clear reception upstairs, but loses a bar or two and has some static in the background audio when using in the basement. Some reviews say this antenna would clear that up. It didn't. Like other reviews said, it made mine worse as well. Took it from 3-4 bars with minor static to 2 bars or less with no reception. It also is not the same mast antenna the photos show, just a straight mast, no coil or anything in it. Sending this back for a refund.

Probably too broad a band width
Did not seem to enhance reception on my scanners that operated on VHF high and the 800 frequencies. I use the antenna with my weather radio and it has performed adequately on the VHF high band. Installing it is a little tricky matching the components on either side of the glass. It is just an okay antenna.

More channels coming in!
I got better reception with this antenna. Used it with out the glass as just a base station sitting on the night stand. Each price comes with 3m double sided tape. I just peeled off one of the tape backers and stuck the pieces together. This is not the intended use of this antenna. Had to clip a pin off the adjustment to get the antenna to stand upright. I get more channels and reception is clearer. Before I could get reception when the weather is clear but nothing when a storm is in the sky. I will update this review if that proves to be the case. Update: yes I get now get reception during the middle of a storm

May have been better off with a wired antenna instead of a through ...
Didn't get the extra reception that I was hoping for. May have been better off with a wired antenna instead of a through the glass one like this.

Insatisfecho
No agrega una mejora real en la recepción de la señal, para Toluca, Mexico. La conecté a un equipo MIDLAND WR120.
