Perfectly Simple
I was able to simply slide this into my SFP+ router, connect up my Cat6a cable between it and my 10GB Modem, and BOOM!

Not compatible with QNAP devices
Some of these Cisco transceivers are compatible with more than just Cisco devices; this one does not seem to be. It works great in my Cisco switch, but I needed a transceiver for a QNAP switch. If you have a Cisco device, this should do the job perfectly, but I wound up purchasing a Transceiver from HiFiber for my needs.

Hot but connects at 10gb
They get quite toasty, but seem to work fine. I hear most get that hot, but have no personal experience. Stable 10gb connections even over a short CAT5e cable (which isn't rated for 10gb).

Runs very hot and dies
I ordered three of these all of them run extremely hot compared to other brands. After about 15 hours of use one of them completely died, will not work at all. Don't cheap out, just get an official one for your brand.

Does what it's advertised to do
Used this on an enterprise cisco switch for a copper uplink to an AP. Works great, cheaper than the Cisco SFP..

Does NOT properly support 2.5Gbps
Based on my experience with a MicroTik switch: this reports 10Gbps to the switch regardless of the negotiated speed. While it does appear to be connected at 2.5Gbps, it reports as 10Gbps to the switch. I assume this confuses the switch, because it then turns into an intermittent 2.5Gbps downlink and a basically worthless (due to so much packet loss) 5-10Kbps uplink. Probably works fine for 10Gbps and 1Gbps. But 6COM clearly answered a question stating that it supports 2.5 + 5, and seemingly it does not. At least not with MikroTik.

I really like this 10 gig SFP+ copper module from 6COM. As a networking professional of 30+ years I have a ton of experience with switches and routers from many of the big manufacturers, but mostly Cisco. This SFP+ RJ45 10 gig module is fully plug and play and worked flawlessly in a Catalyst 9200CX-8P switch SFP+ uplink port. The switch is Meraki-managed, so it shows as "6COM - 10GBase-CX/6C-SFP-10G-T" in the dashboard port details. The in-wall copper cabling I was using wasn't very good quality and I'm not even sure it was Cat6a but it was a short distance and that was enough to work at 10G. The switch on the other end of the copper link was a Catalyst 9300-24UX with mGig which negotiated (through this 6COM module) to a link rate of 10G. Remember, you need an SFP+ port for this module to work properly (SFP-only ports for 1 gig won't work). Your cabling also needs to be very short for this to work. You might be able to push the distance slightly with good quality cabling but stick to under 30 meters for guaranteed performance. Highly recommended!
