Hot or cold. No bend like regular straws though. I also use it to stir when I put powder in my water. Mother used it for coffee when she was recovering from an episode of vertigo & not too steady. Easy to clean. I just pour a thin drizzle of dish washing liquid down the straw so it gets inside & outside. Then just rinse really well both ends & inside. No smell or taste. No more plastic more straws. I wouldn’t put them in the dish washer. I’m sure they would be safe & get clean I just wouldn’t feel safe.
