Time consuming
Plenty of cane to cover a 13 in. by 14 in. hole. I have done three chairs and this job is very time consuming. If you pay to have this done you are paying for their TIME. The instructions could be better and you will make some mistakes. Even after two other jobs I still screwed up. The kit is of pretty good quality but the cane is a natural product therefor hot perfect.

Great kit
This is a good quality kit. Good instruction( just don't get them wet) I would recommend this to anyone for a first time attempt at caning.

A lot of work, but the kit is good
The instructions are really thorough and it came with everything needed. No complaints with the kit itself, but the process is exceptionally tedious

Poor product
Purchased this kit to re-cane a child size rocker. Soaked the cane as directed and the material was full of splits and frays could not keep it wet enough during the weaving. Was only able to get four weaves done and gave up! Would not buy again. Very disappointed in the quality of it.

Caning material is a low grade
Many strands of caning material had weak spots and couldn't be used. I had many break during weaving process. It was a struggle to complete the job started. I ended up stopping at step 4 just to save my sanity. And I don't think there was enough material to complete step 5 and 6. This was not my first time caning this rocker. One thing left out of the directions that helped a bit was adding a shot of glycerin to the soaking water.
