I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota and wasn’t completely sure about the fitment at first. I used ChatGPT to compare the measurements between my truck and the models this chase rack is listed to fit. It ended up fitting perfectly with no major issues. Just a heads-up it will block the 3rd brake light, so be prepared to install an additional one. For the new 3rd Brake light I tapped into the current brake circuit and drilled a hole next to the existing 3rd brake light and ran the wire through a rubber grommet. The Chase Rack also hangs slightly over the inner edge of the bed rail due to how narrow the rail is on the Dakota. Overall, the installation was quick, the fitment is good, and it looks amazing on the truck.

This is an update on how the Chase Rack is holding up, if you see the photo, there is a rust hole in the passenger tube.

Fits as well as can be expected (1st gen Tacomas have very narrow bed rails). Extremely sturdy once installed and noticably reduces bed wobble when driving. The powder coat isn't perfect but nothing out of the ordinary at this price point. Looks great!

NOT WORTH $700 CONS: •Terrible weld job, I mean it holds together yeah, but the weld job looks like it was done by someone who's welded once. looks like Silly putty, but I guess it keeps it sturdy? •The powder coat/Finnish they added is terrible. It's bubbled up in some areas and came chipped which led to rust. It also has oversprayon the rails. Definitely going to have to get this professionaly coated down the line •The foam padding came off easily which was covered in dust/rust? •There is a locking washer JAMMED into the left frame, don't know how or why its in there. •The Hexagon mesh has two areas which wasn't fully cut out. PROS: •MITIGATES body roll which is so awesome! •Complete change of look, makes truck look rugged •Comes with 4 slots to mount lights •The Hexagon Rail is removable for whatever you wanna do with it which I think is cool if you want it replaced with a different pattern or Color. All in all, this product is okay. I don't want this review to change your mind, because at a distance, it looks bad ass. Overall its a decent rack, nice and hefty, easy construction, and very sturdy if completed correctly. You will need a rivet nut tool (around $50) and possibly rivet nuts. I was sent bolts that were too corse to fit in the fine threaded rivet nuts so i had to buy extra rivet nuts that fit with the bolts. All together it was still under $700 which is cheaper than most other comparable racks, im satisfied now that its all on and looks good.

I am happy with the rack but, the welding job was done by a beginner. Update : after 2 years, rust is appearing almost everywhere... Not sure about quality...
