One of these stool softeners, combined with a fiber tab or pill, works very well.

It doesn't seem as effective as colace tablets but these definitely work. Specially for the price, they are really really good. For the same price you only get 30 colace tablets. For the people who require it regularly or for a few days every so often this is great.
