Review: Clean, Easy, and Relatively Painless! - I normally wait at least a few months before reviewing a product, since most require repeated use to really gain a solid understanding of the product's effectiveness. Not so for Moom; I got back to the computer as soon as I could after using it for the very first time. It's that good. I've been on a life-long search for the perfect hair remover, and have considerable experience with wax strips (which I'd argue are not actually "wax" but a low-toxin adhesive) and cream depilatories. I have very fine, blond hair, but let's face it - when you want hair gone, you want it gone, regardless of whether anyone else can see it or not. The wax strips are nasty, and leave a lot of hair behind along with most of the adhesive ("wax"). Cream depilatories downright stink, even the ones that sincerely claim theirs smells "fresh". Aside from the stink and the toxic chemicals that comprise them, the creams also do a substandard job on fine facial hair for some reason. I have left it on my skin up to 11 minutes, and still must drag a tissue across my skin to rip the hair out. Both are notorious for breaking the hair off above the surface, leaving a veritable stubble where I was promised "smooth skin for up to two weeks". Both make me break out. This is an ugly business! Determined to find an organic solution, I conjured up this product in my search. When you are trying to remain organic, there are very few hair removal choices other than a straight-edge. So I gave Moom a shot. I was in a rush to leave the house the first time I used it, but took the package apart and skimmed the directions. The container of solution required a small amount of heat to warm up enough to be spreadable (30 seconds in my weak microwave). My guess is submerging the container in a cup of hot water would be equally effective. Once pliant, the solution is spread in a very thin film over a small area (in my case, where the thigh joins the body). This is undoubtedly the most critical step, as you want to ensure the entire area is covered uniformly with no thick spots. The skin must be held taut and smooth while the cloth strip is smoothed over it and rubbed down gently. The first strip I ripped off left me immediately convinced that it didn't work - I didn't feel much of anything. But the evidence on the strip proved otherwise. In fact, every last hair was removed, no matter how tiny. I have NEVER seen that before. And the cloth strip not only captured every last hair, root and all, it also picked up every last trace of the solution as well, so that my skin was smooth and clean without need for soap and water or scary blue oil (paint thinner) to remove sticky goo from my legs. I folded the strip in half and threw it on the floor of the shower while I did the second leg. By the time I turned on the shower and the water was warm enough to get in, the strips were rinsed clean. I am so impressed! A few reviewers complained that the Moom was messy, but I would argue it is only as messy as you work. If you are careful and methodical about your work, you will find it is very clean and easy. Even if you get a little on the sink or floor, it cleans right up with water. Very much unlike those wax strips that roll back up on themselves the minute you separate them, not to mention their propensity to latch onto every available surface like flypaper. Or wads of tissue coated in used, malodorous depilatory cream. THAT is messy. This was highly manageable, odorless, and gentle. I can't believe I'm writing this, but I'm actually looking forward to using it again. UPDATE: Having used this multiple times now, I have a few tips that might make the process easier: 1) if the hair is fine, put a little baking soda, calcium carbonate, etc. on it to add density and grip so it doesn't just slide out of the wax. 2) warm the wax first but leave it on for enough time to cool off a little before removing. If you remove too quickly, the wax won't have time to harden onto the hair. 3) starting with squeaky clean skin is a must - any residual lotion will hamper your efforts.
Review: Good Product - Pros: - The sugar based was washes away easily with water. - Reusable waxing strips and applicators: all you have to do is soak them a bit, wash and dry and they're ready to be used again and again. - The large waxing strips were really long, if you need more smaller sizes you can cut them up into smaller pieces. I my large strips into six smaller strips each. - Not extremely painful: I used this product for a brazilian and even though I can't compare it to the usual wax I can say the pain was tolerable. - Does a good job at catching the coarse hairs Cons: - If not ripped properly in the right direction, sometimes you only break the hair off at the root and not remove the hair from the root. - Doesn't really catch finer hairs. - Need to practice and find the right technique to apply the right amount or else hair will not come off with the wax. When the instructions say paper thin in means PAPER THIN. The thicker the layer is the more inefficient the wax will become. My advice is to pull your skin taught and scrap the applicator down firmly so it applies the wax but also takes off the extra layers so it leaves a thin layered trail. - Sticky trail: the sugar may string a little. Neutral Comments: - Doesn't really have the lavender scent, it just smells like sugar, which doesn't really affect anything. - Edible, I've actually licked this stuff off my fingers when things got sticky. I think the pros outweigh the cons. The product is excellent in my opinion, but it's not for everyone. It does take a few tries to figure out the technique but once you do you'll find it pretty satisfying.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like it. But it takes some getting used to.
*by J***Y on December 19, 2012*

This is the first waxing product I have ever got before and it is the first time I have every tried to wax myself. I found out a few interesting things. I'm a guy so this kind of thing is totally out of the norm for me. But I decided to shake things up a bit. Here is what I have learned. The wax is made from 90% honey 4% molasses and the rest is a mild thickening agent that is not listed on the bottle because if they said what it is you could most likely make the stuff at home in your kitchen for next to nothing. And of course some kind of wax blended in. Honey is a natural antibiotic so it makes sense to use if your pores start to bleed. Cold wax removes hair better but is way harder to apply. And it hurts to do so. Cold wax is for your face only. warm wax goes on better but does not remove hair as well. The hotter it is the less effective it is. The instructions are not joking about not microwaving the product for more than 10 seconds, honestly 8 seconds was enough. Never apply the wax in a larger area than the size of the wooden stick that comes in the kit. Apply a line the same width and length of the stick and rub the cloth into the wax. Doing narrow long strips at a time will keep it from hurting. Let set for at least 60 seconds for the wax to cool a bit and then pull. If the hair does not want to come off you must pull the hair in the opposite direction. Do not try to wax in a hot room. If you are sweating this wax will NOT work at all. This wax melts instantly when in contact with water or sweat. Make sure to trim all hair to the same length. If you don't you will regret it. (Trust me...) All hair should be half of 1 inch long. Probably #3 or #2 size hair trimming attachment for your electric hair clipper set. If at all possible have your husband or wife help you with the process. It makes it 100 times easier with 2 people. And lastly remember that this is a LONG AND TIRING PROCESS>>> You will probably not get the results you are looking for on the first waxing. And you will be sore the next couple of days Guaranteed. However by the 2nd or 3rd waxing you will be squeaking clean and looking great. I hope my instructional review has helped.
