Same as original battery
I bought this as a backup for the battery in my Hoover Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner. It works exactly the same as the one that came with the vacuum. It is also supposed to work with the handheld version of the vacuum as well. The battery does run full power for most of its cycle, but does quickly power down once it is almost dead. if you are in the middle of vacuuming, you can easily tell when it is about to die. The vacuum does have an indicator light to let you know when the battery needs charging, but you can obviously tell by that point anyway. If you buy the vacuum, a second battery is a must. The battery does charge relatively quickly (in a few hours), but it only lasts for about 15-30 of vacuuming. I recommend having two, and keeping one fully charged at all times.

Appears to be a genuine Hoover battery
The battery I received appears to be a genuine Hoover battery in new condition with a two-year warranty notice included in the box. It charged right up and is working well. I just received it yesterday and cannot attest to the run time following a charge. I will come back and update my review if that is not satisfactory. This battery sells for $69.99 on Hoover's website, so Amazon's price is significantly less. The original battery in the Linx lasted about 4 years. I then purchased a knock-off version on Amazon that lasted just short of a year, and did not cost that much less than this one. Hopefully this one will do as well as the original!

Hoover LINX Rechargeable Battery
After owning the Hoover LINX Cordless Stick Vacuum for several months I cannot imagine life without it. The only problem I have had with it is that the battery runs out of juice before I am finished cleaning. I have read in other reviews (and from personal experience with other Lithium-Ion batteries) that to preserve the overall life of the battery you should not continuously keep the battery in the charger or constantly recharge it if it still has a lot of charge remaining. If the battery is fully charged when I start cleaning I can time it just perfectly so it dies as I am finishing. However, if I just do a super quick cleaning I still have about half the battery life when I finish. The next time I use the vac with only half the battery life I am destined to run out of juice before I finish. I use the vac on about 1500 sq ft of tile and multiple short-pile area rugs. I also like to use the vac on my deeper-pile carpets for a surface cleaning when I don't feel like getting out my bigger, more powerful vacuum. Doing the "full routine" takes between 15-20 minutes. Having this extra battery has made cleaning much easier and more predictable for me. I do not have to plan whether I can clean thoroughly based on my battery life. Now I can start cleaning without worrying if I run out of battery juice. If the battery dies, I just pop the fully charged battery into the vac and put my completely drained battery in the charger. I bought the LINX Cordless Stick Vac to make life a little easier. By adding the spare battery to my arsenal I feel that my life IS easier.

Easy to use, rather expensive to replace
The Hoover LINX products work great. Five star products. But be aware that the batteries don't last forever, and they aren't cheap to replace. My batteries lasted about two years with light to moderate use. If the product suddenly stops working, and the battery seems to be charged, there are three possible problems - the vacuum, the battery, or the charger. It's almost definitely going to be the battery. I'm continuing to use my LINX products despite the expensive batteries. They work so well it's worth it.

Perfect and Lasts Long too
This Hoover LiNX replacement battery is fantastic. It fits my LiNX vacuum perfectly. Now I can vacuum a few rooms at one time, instead of stopping because the battery ran down. I have two five-year old batteries that were only lasting around 6 minutes before needing to be recharged. I knew I needed a new battery, but I put off buying one because of the price. It was well worth it! I love how much vacuuming time I get now before I have to charge the battery. I'm thinking about buying a second spare battery, and maybe I'll just recycle my two old ones.

Having the spare battery makes a good vacuum great
The thing about lithium batteries is that they run out of power without much warning. Sure there's a gauge/light on the vacuum, but if your not paying attention it can stop in the middle of vacuuming. Recharging a battery can put vacuuming on hold for an hour, but with a fully charged spare battery in the charger you can quickly swap batteries and resume vacuuming. Added after more than a year: I am not sure what all the battery/charger in/out discussion is about. During the last year,we have left the vacuum cleaner batteries in the charger and swap them as needed, without any negative affects. I treat these batteries the same as all my lithium rechargeable batteries in my phones and several cordless tools. When they're discharged I put them in the charger, and leave them there until I need them. Maybe the chargers have a different charging programs, or are smarter than others. I have not had to replace a lithium battery yet, and some of them are 5 years old. I think using a timer is a great idea to save energy, and I might use it, but it won't be because I have battery life problems. PS The vacuum still runs like new. It's really handy for a quick clean-up.

Be aware that Hoover only warrants this battery for 30 days
Before buying this battery be aware that Hoover only warrants this battery for 30 days which is essentially only a DOA warranty. Is that an indictment of the quality? I purchased this battery from Amazon in Feb 2018 (11 months ago) to replace one of the batteries on the two LiNX vacuums (Model BH50010) I purchased at Costco about two years ago. I use both vacuums light duty so only needed to charge this battery a 2-3 times but on the most recent attempt it failed to accept a charge โ no charger lights at all โ dead battery. I tried charging the battery in my other LiNX charger with the same results. Both chargers work with my one remaining good battery so both chargers work. I contacted Hoover via the support section on their website and I received a response within 24 hours saying I needed to call Customer Support. The first time I called I was on hold for 30 minutes with no indication where I may be in the queue. I hung up and called back 2 hours later and was on hold for another 25 minutes before a live person answered. The representative was cordial and said the warranty on this Hoover Original replacement battery was 30 days. I was surprised and asked a few times if that was a mistake. So now, I have two LiNX vacuums less than 2 years old and only one functioning battery. I was advised by customer support that the vacuum, and the battery that ships with the vacuum, are warranted for 2 years but a replacement battery is warranted for only 30 days and there was nothing she could do at all without receipts. I have an Amazon digital receipt for the replacement battery but not the Vacuum paper receipt from Costco 2 years ago. You would think providing the serial number, that contains the date of manufacture, would be sufficient. That is how most consumer businesses offering quality appliance products operate regarding warranty repairs or replacement. I asked why the vacuum and the battery it ships with are warranted for 2 years and an original Hoover replacement battery for only 30 days. I was simply advised that is the policy. I paid about $80 each for the two vacuums about 2 years ago. A decent deal. The Hoover original spare battery costs $60 on Amazon. Therefore, after two batteries dying within a year I figured these vacuums with short life captive batteries are really a lower quality disposable product. With a 30-day warranty, replacing short life original Hoover batteries could get expensive. (I would not gamble on aftermarket batteries either). I decided to cut my losses and purchase a Dyson V8 Absolute on sale on Amazon. Yes, it is more expensive ($130 Vs $330) but it is a quality product with user testimonials claiming Dyson support stands behind their product (even without a receipt). I am glad I did because the Dyson significantly outperforms the Hoover LiNX in every way, and includes the advantage of HEPA Filtration. Performance, support, and air quality wise it is worth the extra expense. I asked the Hoover representative if there was anything she could do to assist with a replacement battery and she said she could not restating Hooverโs policy. I suppose I should l thank Hoover customer support for convincing me to move away from Hoover to a better value Dyson. I hope this helps someone in a similar situation.

Battery has more power than original!
I love the Hoover cordless vacuum. Just perfect for cleaning up small spills and general vacuuming. I got good life from the original battery, but it finally was going. I only got a few minutes of vacuuming out of a full charge and felt that it had served me well. I purchased this new battery with some trepidation - some reviewers did not have good luck with theirs, but there's always Amazon's great return policy if there are problems, so I ordered. When it arrived it was totally dead. No problem, I put it in the charger and after a few hours it was ready to go. Having run with the old battery for so long I was pleasantly shocked by how long the charge lasted. Ran with 3 bars for a short time, then 2 bars for a long time, and then 1 bar for a long time. I didn't wait until I got the flashing bar signifying that it was almost dead. I recharged before I got there. I was curious if the battery was lasting really long or was it just my perception compared to the old and worn out battery. I checked the new battery and it is a 36Wh battery and the original one that came with the vacuum is a 30Wh battery. So, the new one has 20% more capacity - very nice! Very pleased with how long I can go between recharging now.

Great battery for the Linx Vacuum
This battery works great! I bought this as a second battery for those days where I want to vacuum larger areas and for longer periods of time. This battery lasts the expected 15 minutes or so, maybe more. Works just as well as the battery that came with the vacuum itself. I highly recommend having the spare around for the bigger vacuuming jobs and just in case you need it. The only real con is that I wish it were a bit cheaper. All in all, happy with the purchase and strongly recommend.

Received order in extremely good time. I tested the new battery and it ...
Received order in extremely good time. I tested the new battery and it worked very well. I have 2 of the Hoover Lynx vacuums...one at home and one at vacation property. I keep 2 batteries on hand for each of them so that I can do all my cleaning at one time. In other words, when I finish with one battery I put on charger so that I always have a back-up. I am very pleased with this system and the batteries. My first battery lasted for 6 years. I would recommend to anyone as it works well. Helen B.

Charge before using
This was replacement battery for 10 year old Hoover Linx. The vacuum is still in good shape and was relegated to garage duty, due to short battery life. Now it works like a charm.
