This is a really nice, well-made cipher. It is a work of art just to look at and fun to use to send messages. We got one for each of our kids and one for ourselves. I would have loved to have one of these when I was a kid. It is precisely made, and the letters and numbers are easy to read. I also like the history behind it and the fact that it was actually used by the Mexican Army. I highly recommend it.

I like this particular cipher device because it encrypts letters into numbers. It is well made and has some heft to it. I like the fact that this particular encrypting system is very hard to crack if you know some of the tricks to employ with the wheel. Even if someone else has the same wheel, it doesn't mean that they can decode your messages as easily as compared to some of the other cipher systems. Some people may prefer what is called the "Janelle Cipher Wheel" because it also allows you to send numbers within your messages. The Mexican Army Cipher is just about as diverse and less expensive. If you are creative, this version of the disk will more than suit your needs in encryption.

Spent a ton of time looking for cipher or decoder toys, and this stood out from the pack. Excellent quality, and I love that's it's made in the USA. The key can be changed each time a message/cipher is created, and there are multiple numbers for each letter, making it much more versatile than the other cipher toys I saw. We've had a blast with it. Would buy again to have another or as a gift for friends.

This was a nice gift my daughter gave a friend who is very much into history, language and ciphers! It looked old and from the area that it would have been used in those days. They love it! Great gift!

Aside from a chip on one of the wheels, the cipher is beautiful and functional. such a wonderful piece.

I liked the quality. But the fun you can have with two or three of these is the realm of my thought. Send your friend with one of these a simple message...make them think of a name or event in the message to fill in from your experiences. Then send them a partial key for them to cipher the corr3ct code and then include your code to decipher. A fun game to share thoughtful thoughts...or. War messages using the date to incript further. It’s a fun toy for a crazy kid...buy two.

I'm very pleased. I was concerned due to the price. This is put together well and feels great in hand. No imperfections. I was afraid it would be some poorly cut balsa wood thing. I'd recommend it to others. I'm intending on finding a nice pouch for it. EDIT- I've just looked at some of the other items this company makes. They make some neat stuff, I'd recommend taking a look too.

I love this cipher. Great quality and a piece of art by itself. Hours of great fun cracking the messages it comes with. Took me about 11 hours to crack the secret messages it came with. I'll be getting a few more for the office and for friends and family.
