Had this a while now (bought by my wife). This thing could be so good but unfortunately it is plagued by frustrating issues and poor implementation. The initial setup isn’t as straightforward as it could be, poor instructions and a lot of head scratching. Far too many user names and ID tags to get confused with. Doesn’t have native Alexa support and setting up via IFTTT is a pain because you’re never sure which username to put in. Literally gave up and then a couple of months later stumbled on some online help which eventually sorted it but the implementation and instructions are NOT clear. I’ve got a lot of smart devices in my house and setup on this is by far the worst. Then there was an issue with frequent dropouts, so bad that I contacted support and they sent out a new adapter (they said there was a faulty batch). It worked better after that but even today it drops out from time to time, usually right at the moment when you want to show friends!!!! Then there is the wireless sensor. Why the heck did they choose type n lt1 batteries for this thing when they know they are expensive and literally mine last 3 months despite being a reputable make. There is enough room for 2 AA so I just don’t understand this decision at all and it makes for a bad experience. All my other sensors last way longer! I have a love hate relationship with this product, it could be so good but at this price it needs more attention: better out of the box set up, native Alexa support, updated firmware and app experience and AA batteries in the sensor. Other than that, if you can put up with the above, it’s and ok product but only gets 3 stars from me. At the time I bought this, it was one of the only products to wire directly into the bell push switch on my garage door. If I were to buy again, I’d look around to see what else is available. It does the job for now but could be so much better.

Really great product - easy to set up & works a charm. Love that it works with HomeKit without needing to setup another account with iSmartgate. All great...except...battery life of the sensor just isn’t good enough.If like me you have lots of HomeKit products then you’ll be opening the Home app often; every time you do it pings the sensor to check if it’s open or closed. Every ping uses some battery life of the sensor. The sensor only has 2x 1.5V batteries so mine don’t last more than 2 months. This is fine...but annoying & fiddly to change the batteries. Could have been easily been fixed with either more or larger battery capacity, wouldn’t matter that the sensor was larger as it’s pretty small.

Despite the marketing blurb this product doe NOT work with Alexa, you have to use it via IFTTT whihc is MORE than a pain (ie you have to say "Trigger ..." to get something to work.the iphone app failed to find the device after sucessful connection to "Apple "Home" app ( what a convoluted method!) so I had to use the web interface after finding the IP address of the device, in order to make it work.once up and runnning it works well from the app and Apple "Home" , but no way would it be discovered by Alexa *sigh* after researching a bit there are (sort of) instructions on ho to set up with IFTT - but if , like me you DO NOT use IFTTT ( all sorts of reasons) then its not fit for purpose ( wrt Alexa) - presmably Google home is better.so beware...

Great product. Easy to install and a massive leap forward over previous iterations of this device.

Perfect- was running after 30 minutes of delivery- well made and does the job. A tad expensive though.

Works as described in the UK. Great to have HomeKit functionality.
