I'm in LOVE!
This is one of the most satisfying purchases I have ever made! Electric waffle makers never gave me what I wanted in a waffle, and they were always hard to clean. This cast iron waffle maker is a dream come true.I seasoned the waffle maker very well before using it. The first few waffles you make may stick, but the more you use it the less they will stick. To make the waffles, I heat the pan over medium heat, flip it over to heat the other side, open it and brush on a mixture of melted butter and oil, portion the batter, close it, flip it again, and cook for 1 and a half on bother sides. That is what works for me. The waffles are perfect and crispy on the edges. Note: the more you use it the better non-stick it gets, making sure the pan is hot enough and properly greased before pouring in the batter.

Nice
Nice, just can stick. Its obviously not as convenient as an electric one. However, I prefer using something that is chemical coated and that is why I purchased this. I dont use it often, but it is nice, not too heavy to deal with

Easy to clean
I was worried to try it due to seeing some negative reviews. We use other cast iron products and love it. Imports to fallow instructions before first use. Then all you need to do to avoid sticking is preheat really good both sides in low heat. place waffle batter on one side and give it a minute(almost like a pancake making), then close the other side give few more minutes and flip. I use almond flour recipes and have no issues. Just preheat all the way through and it works great. And of course clean without soap as directed.

Small but heavy
Perfect for cast iron collectors. It's a nice addition but I'm not a collector and I had a difficult time seasoning and using these

Back to pancakes
Pre seasoned this isn't. It's so rough you really will have to use Emory cloth to get it worn down enough for a good layer of seasoning to work. Safe your money or make pancakes, this isn't it.

Makes great chaffles, with a C
Someone said they tested for lead and it was positive. So I tested, tested something known to be lead...car battery terminal. Tested the cast iron NOT positive for lead. This is a great little waffle iron. I'm enjoying using it and do so on an electric burner. I do not however make waffles. I make chaffles which are eggs and cheese, not batter. This little jewel crisps them up in a way my electric waffle iron never could.😋

Can cook waffles in electric oven with this cast iron waffle maker
It took a little time, but I figured out how to cook waffles in an electric oven. Please note that this is cooking for a crowd, but I think you will get the idea. First- clean & season the waffle iron. I put oil on it once, then just let it "cook/season" whenever I was cooking other items in the oven for several days. You should expect the waffles to stick the first time you use it, but once you get the seasoning & timing right, they come right off the waffle iron. Just scrape off the messed up waffle, then let the extra "cook off", then scrape it with a fork & the brush they send. Then try again. Preheat oven to 450 degree, then put pans in for at least 15 min. Or, can slowly preheat the oven to 450 with the pans in it, but may take much longer. "FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS BELOW! This is for 12 waffle irons on FOUR rows of an electric oven. Use the TOP FOUR racks of the oven with 3 waffle irons/rack. Anything lower burns/overcooks. OVERVIEW: You will put ~2/3 cup waffle batter in the preheated pans (no oil), close pans, & put back in oven. Start on the top row & work your way to bottom. When done with the last/bottom row, immediately set timer for 14 minutes & when it dings, the top row should be done. This is a 2 PERSON job! It goes much faster & smoother if 2 people work together. Instructions are written like you are getting a batch of waffles out of the oven. 1. One person gets all waffle irons off the TOP row of the oven & puts them on the stove top. That person opens one waffle iron and the second person uses two forks to lift the waffle off the waffle iron and put it on a pan. Once the waffle is out, leave the iron open & lean it up against the back of the stove top if possible. Repeat with rest of irons ON THAT ROW. Now all the waffles are out & it's time to refill. *NOTE- the square irons stay open better than the round ones. The round ones tend to need to prop open on the back of the stove & they may slide down so be careful. 2. One person puts 2/3 cup waffle batter in an open waffle iron and the second person gently closes that iron. Repeat until all the waffle irons on that row are filled up & quickly put back in the oven on the same row they were on. 3. (Quickly) Go to the next (second) row and do the same process of removing the waffles & refilling the waffle irons. 4. (Quickly) Go to the next (third) row and do the same process of removing the waffles & refilling the waffle irons. 5. (Quickly) Go to the bottom row and do the same process of removing & refilling the waffle irons. 6. Once all the waffle irons have been refilled, set the oven timer for 14 minutes. 7. When the timer goes off, take out the top row and start again. *this is assuming all the waffle irons have been seasoned well." If the waffles split open when check on them, you have not cooked them long enough. If they are hard as a brick but come off the waffle iron, cut back on the cook time. If the waffle irons sit out & cool off too much between batches, it will affect the cooking time too. I also tried another brand of waffle iron (that was heavier in weight) and I could never get it not to stick, even using oil. Overall, figured out how to cook lots of waffles at one time (after spending a small fortune on waffle irons).

An emotional tour de force.
Using this waffle iron, I experienced a spectrum of emotions I did not expect. At first there was the intense ennui of finding the right temperature, upon which to cook. Second was the elation of finding he right amount of batter to use. Third was the deep anticipation of finding the exact cooking time to make the waffle crispy and golden brown. After achieving the perfect trifecta of waffle crisp and delight, the waffles were okay. A bit dense, with maybe too much butter, but pretty good. Five stars, would cook again.

Excelente!
Es importante curar la gofrera antes de usar, ya que si no se usa correctamente la masa se queda pegada. Después de varios usos es más fácil. Cuidado con el calor porque la gofrera va directo en la estufa (preferentemente de gas).
