Kaytee Natures Nest Bamboo Finch

These are very sturdy and give your Feathered Friends the security they both want and need. It cradles to chicks securely and comfortably as they grow. Easy access for both parents and chicks.

A neighbor gave us a society finch named Pete. She was really lonely, so we bought a pair of baby zebra finches to be her friends. Everybody gets along beautifully and they're all just the cutest little birds who ever lived, but every night, the zebra finches (originally named Eliza and Penelope...later re-named Eliza and PeneloHe) would nestle together on top of Pete's hut, while Pete slept inside. I wanted to give Eliza and PeneloHe a place where they could sleep, too, so I bought this hut, mostly because it's identical to Pete's. Well. For the most part, Eliza and PeneloHe completely ignore the new nest, or they sleep on top of it. Pete sometimes sleeps in the new hut, but the zebras clearly just like sleeping on top of the huts. So I guess we just have this as kind of a spare. It's reasonably well-made, as bamboo huts go, but over time I think it'll need to be replaced, because they also seem to like poking at it with their beaks. It's relatively tightly woven, and seems to be appealing to the birds.

Decent size bird nest/house. Actually a little bigger than I expected. It has smooth edges all around. Some others I've purchased have sharper pieces sticking off of it. The metal hanger is nice and secure. All 3 of my finches go in it at the same time, it is a little cramped for 3 to be in there at once, they each have their own "house", but they cram into this one for some reason lol.

My finches love their nests but they will not use this one, it's too small. Only one finch will fit inside with the nesting material, and my finches have to be together. The nest itself is sturdy. I use the same nest but the larger size, they love them. Update: After about three weeks both finches started to use this nest, they now love it just as they loved the larger nest. I have only two and they can squeeze in there together. They look quite cozy 😊

Finches love it!

This is a great bird nest hut for finches I've been breeding and having finches for over 30 years. As of now, I'm down to one. "Mikey" needs one and this one is more for one and also a group that may need room if they are breeding. It is great and holds well! In his case, he may need a smaller one. I'll see.

I have an aviary with a lot of zebra finches. Okay. Hundreds of zebra finches. Okay. Hundreds and hundreds of zebra finches. More than anything, finches love to nest. They will make nests out of anything they find, including the spinach that was part of their breakfast. They will build nests on top of nests on top of nests. They will do it on a branch but another finch will come along and go, "Ooh! Nesting material!" and take the pieces of that nest to make (you guessed it) a nest. Finches also love to make babies. But they need to do that in nests. The KAYTEE BAMBOO NATURES NEST is where finches like to go to start a family. I have a lot of these nests and, inside, finches live and multiply and do all their finchy things. They give these nests two wings up.

It seem to be the best of my finches. I give them a lot of different nest but the answer is they choose this one. They already have eggs, will see if they hatches.
