I found this trap to be very sturdy, but difficult to use. the problem was that the trigger mechanism is at the far end of the entrance and there was no way to reach it conveniently. It took several days to catch the Raccoon. I was finally able to bait the trigger plate with a cat food can that I positioned using a broom handle. The Raccoon was VERY LEERY of the trap and I had to position a trail of "Baited Cans" outside and into the trap. Of course my cat, Fluff, fell victim to the trap on the second day. HE WAS VERRRRRRY UPSET!!!!!!! That Racoon kept avoiding the trap and I would sprinkle dry cat food all around and inside the trap to attract it into the trap. It would push the trap around and lift it to get to the food without entering the trap. I then positioned landscape bricks around it to keep it from moving. I have video of it literally kicking one of the smaller stones away to get to the food. That's when I placed a can directly on the plate and created a trail of cans to lead it into the trap. It finally worked! The Raccoon was trapped. It was VERRRRRRRRRRY UPSET OVER THIS!!!!! The trap kept him contained. It would stick it's paws through the bars and under the door plate. After it was relocated, I discovered that there was a second Raccoon! This time I cut and access panel into the "roof" of the trap and fixed a can to the trigger plate. I covered it with a laminated wood door (See pictures.) Let's hope this works I did the access door today.

This live animal trap is cheaply made and poorly designed. There were no instructions included - not in the box, on Amazon, or on the manufacturer’s website. The trap is easy for animals to escape from, especially through the side opposite the trap door, which has no clips or reinforcements. Total waste of time and money.

Had to catch a groundhog - 1 cantaloupe inside, another cantaloupe cut into pieces inside and some fresh cantaloupe juice spread in the cage inside and outside so that it is so awesome for my little friend and just 2 days later I had him ! Nice cage and worked for me, but did nit work for my little friend who is inside.

the cages are fine. I just expected 2 big cages instead of a big and a little cage. They work fine. as far as ease of use, getting the door triggered right. etc. So really the problems I have aren't really with the cages, it's with the pickup people. PLease call your local critter removal company before you buy! I did it after and found out NO ONE will pick these up if you catch them!!! that only leaves you with 2 options. Let it starve in the cage or try and figure out what to do with it after you catch it. These are totally live catch cages and not giant mousetrap type things. So you have to deal with a still living thing if you catch it. Luckily, I got the cages and started calling places prior to setting these out. If I hadn't I would have been really screwed. I have no way to deal with a thing that is still alive after I catch it!!! ended up spike stripping the outside of my house, and that got rid of the problem.

I was bitten by a homeless cat that I had been feeding for about a year. The cat had always been friendly to me, but I failed to wash the sent of my full time indoors house cat off my hand and as I was removing the prior day's dirty dish, the homeless cat bit my hand. The county animal control lent me their trap to capture this cat to determine if the cat had rabies. The county’s trap failed after 3 nights to spring the door closed, so I ordered this trap from Amazon. The trap was delivered in 2 days and the first night I used it baited with tuna, I captured the cat. Fortunately, he was not rabid and all is good. I believe I will donate the trap to the county.

I have used my trap for three weeks. It is a great product more than satisfied.

Works great! We’ve had a skunk stealing turkey eggs every night and never seem to catch him in the act. Put out the trap last night, woke up to a trapped skunk. Worth the price, metal materials are strong.
