Drayton ZA5 Actuator 5 Wire Zone Valve Actuator 27650 *New*

This has been a real sanity saver. Central heating started playing up just at the clocks changed. Controller set to ‘Off’ no call from the thermostat for heating, but the circulating pump still whirling away. Other than kill all the electrics, couldn’t stop it. Then found a Youtuber with same problem who pointed the finger at the heater control valve. Seems the microswitch sometimes gets stuck. Did the recommended manual check of pushing the lever back in place and pump stopped. So bought this genuine replacement pump top. Fitting was a piece of cake. Very good instruction leaflet gave more details than the heating firm that fitted the original system gave me. Unlatch the old top, swap each wire into the junction box one-at-a-time. New unit wire colours matched old one exactly. 30 mins and job done. All now working exactly as it should – pump only running when it should and system answering to instructions from the controller. Saved me from and expensive callout charge from plumber who probably would have been just as lost as I’d been. Couldn’t be more happy.

The Actuator was a perfect replacement for the faulty Iflo valve actuator.

I bought this ZA5 actuator to replace the one I had, which had developed a faulty microswitch which was keeping the water pump and boiler switched on all the time even when there was no demand for heating nor hot water. An engineer had installed the old one six months ago and he used the Regin Rege 105 5-way plug sockets to connect the wires, so there was no need to fiddle with the wiring centre. I found it very easy and simple to replace each wire at a time using the colour of the wires as a guide. The ZA5 actuator arrived promptly and it worked as it should. I'll be looking to replace the microswitch on the old one so I can reuse it again.
