Silk Copper PLA Test
I initial bought this PLA due to the silk copper colour. The filament is supplied vacuum packed and upon opening the reel the plastic is very neatly wound on the reel so no snagging or tangling! The centre of the reel has a much larger diameter than most other reals do, the reel actually sat on the desk, I had to print a hub to go inside to fill up the reel to work in the holders I use, not a disaster, just a niggle but I will save the hub for future Geeetech reels. Purging before printing gave a nice smooth feed with no spitting or popping so I expected good things. I drew out about 5 metres of filament and measured the diameter in several places all within the stated specification. My printer is a 7 year old Aworldnet A600 i3 clone, with an skr1.4 turbo upgrade, 0.4mm nozzle and BL Touch. I used my default settings of bed 60 degrees, extruder 200 degrees and no fan for first 5 layers. First layer was excellent, almost perfect, so I left it alone to print, after some time I returned and it was still printing with no failure and the overall finish looked excellent. Once completed I removed the skull and checked it out in my mini photo booth, the quality of the print, even running with a later height of 0.3mm is excellent. The photos show the object looking very good, but the tactile feel is even better than the looks. It feels great in the hand and the copper finish is much better than I expected. I have had some lovely coloured filaments in the past but sometimes good looking filaments don’t always print well. This filament not only is well priced, it prints excellently and looks gorgeous. I think I may have to find what other amazing colours are available and give them a try too.

Ohhh this Silk Copper...
I just loved this Copper Silk, its amazing. Received it in a plain card box, great, no paint wasted, very well sealed off, with the silica bag inside. Nothing new, not my first Geeetech PLA and its a standard. Then I open up the sealed bag, hmmm new spool, ligther and with usage marks on its side so we can see how much PLA we still have, nice touch!! Out of the box and in the Spool the Copper Silk color is gorgeous! First print usual XYZ cube, but and sice have been reading on some forums before, I decided to up the temp a little as this was my first silk pla, and changing to 215 on nozzle and keep the 60 on bed the results were great, great adhesion straight on glass bed, then a Marvin come up and again very strong adhesion and fantastic result, so I keep going, and a Calicat was printed...it look so good! Then my wife saw the tests and loved the copper color, and asked me for a vase in that color to put the make up brushes, and the result is a beautiful heart shaped vase, very very smooth finish with such a great look. The smaller one was my first attempt terminated by a power failure at home that took to long to be restored , and even like that still look very good. I 'm completely in love with this PLA, nice price, nicely spooled, no smelly pla, it has a great adhesion, and the color, ohh this color is just amazing.

Great colour, Prints like TPU
Colour is fantastic and hard to capture on a phone camera - better than any of the pictures on here. Also recommend concentric top layer for a good sheen. It should be noted that it prints similar to TPU, but at high PLA temps. So you definitely need to put down glue and add some positive z offset, or else it will bond to a glass bedplate (mine chipped off!). I also try to remove the spool ASAP and it can be quite tight coming out when it's still warm. I've run it at 190-195 nozzle, 68 bedplate on Ender 3 V2 and it prints very nicely (I usually do 183, 62 for PLA). It's also slightly "drier" than regular PLA, so it's better to run hot to avoid clogging. Note: colour is slightly less orange than the photos

Silk Gold PLA that prints great and has a deep rich colour and shine
Ok, this is Silk Gold from Geetech it has a very shiney and vibrant gold colour off the reel, good consistanct diameter over 150CM,well packaged (in a vacum seal bag with incandescent bag) Print settings MK8 extruder with a Ultrabase Glass bed and Glue stick: Nozzle: 193C Bed: 55C Flow: 96% Cooling: 30-90% prints great, smooth with little artifacts in comparison to other filiments i have used. there was minimal setup for a first print other than the usual you should be doing with all new roles (temp tower, speed test, flow rate) all pictures posted are of prints that were done straight after each other with the above calibration and a glue stick on a glass bed. theres no adhesion issues but i always use a glue stick and run a fucll filiment calibration on new rolls. Layers are strong and bonded and with the temp test tower you can see it prints bridges very well colour is vibrant with reddish undertones and a shiney finish (after printing its slightly dull but a "heat seal" with a heat gun or lick with a blow tourch brings the shine right back, just like PETG) i would very much recomend this filiment if your printing something yellow or gold to catch the eye,and just for general printing. yes take note of the negitive reviews also but also remember that calibration or your print settings and printer is almost 80% of the adhesion and print quality battle.

Badly wound...Almost full roll going in the bin.
Just opened this. Started a nine hour print and the filament is wound on badly. It's CRITICAL that filament is wound on correctly and quality control is 100%. SO, I SIT AND WATCH THIS PRINTING FOR NINE HOURS AND TRY TO UNTANGLE AS I GO OR....I BIN THE WHOLE REEL. ---------------> YES...IT'S GOING IN THE BIN. I will absolutely avoid buying any more filament Geetech

Great 'real gold' colour
Easily the best 'real gold' filament I've tried. Prints really nice and actually has the gold colour down nicely. Other gold colour filaments I've tried are nowhere near as real as this one.

Geeetech are fast becoming one of my favourite filament brands.
So, after a good experience with the Geeetech White filament, I thought I'd give something sparklier a try. This is an interesting filament, unlike most I've used it's pretty hard to snap off the reel. It adheres to my Prusa i3 Mk3S smooth PEI bed like nothing I've ever seen - I've taken to cleaning the bed less when using this or it can actually be hard to get parts off! If you just want a PLA to stick to the bed well, buy this and don't bother reading the rest! I really mean it, I've never encountered anything like this in terms of bed adherence. I kept the settings to the Prusa defaults, which I've generally had a lot of luck with, so 60 degrees on the bed and 215 degrees on the hotend. So far I've printed a brush holder, which is nice and shiny, and then thought I'd try some multimaterial prints. The thing about multimaterial prints on the Prusa with the MMU2S, is that it has to repeatedly unload and load the filament into the nozzle. The 2 colour benchy at 0.1mm layers I printed, changed filaments 335 times during the print, the other filament used in it was Geeetech Marble. If a filament is too stringy, too soft, snaps easily, or generally uneven, multimaterial prints like this are an utter nightmare, of failed loads followed by beeping for you to manually intervene. I didn't have a single failed load during this print (or during the star trek bade, but that one was only a few loads). I'm really impressed! And, to cap it all off, like the other Geeetech filaments I've tried, the price on this is definitely right.

Geeetech Silk PLA
As I have come to expect, Geeetech PLA delivers excellent performance for FDM printing. For my test I chose to print a Lithograph and some Trolley Tokens, I chose these as I find flat objects that need no support a good test for quality and speed. Upon opening the box the filament was wound on the spool very well, with no tangles, unwinding effortlessly through to the print head. Using the Flashforge 5M Pro for this test allowed me to print fast and at a higher temperature, I choose 220 for the print head and 55 for the bed, printing at a speed of 116 mm/s. The filament produced no stringing or defect in the print and gave a very high resolution output as can be seen in the pictures. In short if you want quality items printed then I highly recommend the use of Geeetech filament. Please note the pictures do not do justice to the high quality of the silk sheen this filament produces
